the only down side was paying $15 a day for wifi when most hotels give you free wifi with your stay and walls where dirty and needs a bit of cleaning

Very slow at checkin and felt we weren't warmly greeted (no cookie! Regular Doubletree guests will understand) . Despite booking parking ahead we were unable to get a park on the property and had to use a public carpark a block away. This was remedied on day 2 and 3 of the stay. Trying to order breakfast was a strange experience as they don't take orders the night before. It was like nobody had ever heard of this concept which is the normal at every other hotel chain. It took a phone call a long hold period and 3 staff then attendance back at the reception and hotel restaurant in person and I spoke to multiple people we were advised to use the QR code in a menu on the tv screen in the room to order in the morning. We had an early booking to go sailing so were anxious about ordering at 6.45am and then waiting but in the end it did come in time. It was like the system works one way but there was no experience in the staff to explain it other than 'use the QR code tomorrow'. Rooms are very small as seems to be the way in all the newer Hobart hotels. Certainly no room to sit around and relax except on the bed or a very small table.

Nice view from our King Mountainview room of Mt Wellington. Very clean and well kept hotel. Loved the indoor pool. Parking was good when we got it.

Could be better quality coffee and tea in the room. No top sheet, Europe style doona provided.

Breakfast was an issue as we were leaving very early, only wanted a small serving and a coffee, but was sorted in the end.

The breakfast was too dear and a lot of the buffet food was cold. We were told there was no charge for parking but then were charged for two nights.

Late night check in was a bit hit and miss. We weren’t given instructions about parking nor internet (which were apparently free). We were charged for a night of parking which could not be refunded. Internet was charged and then was apparently free (they credit this). These little things were a bit sloppy for a good hotel.

Rooms are recently renovated and thoughtfully appointed. So we had a very comfortable stay. Staff were really terrific and made us feel very welcome.

Being wet season and not many people around we were able to check in before lunch time and the staff were exceptional. There was a text message service to ask questions or the front desk was accommodating

Sometimes in the pool area dirty dishes were sitting around for long hours and it wasn’t a busy hour. Also the pillows were a bit uncomfortable. They could have added a bit of variety at the cheese and ham section.

The hotel is very nice, the reception very pleasant and there is also a large playground opposite the hotel. The room had everything we needed and we slept in comfortable beds. The cleaner did a fantastic job cleaning and providing with everything we needed every day. The pool was fantastic and the staff provided towels for us and were always there to help with everything. The best part was that there was always free cold water to refresh yourself when you got out of the pool, something that you don’t see everywhere. Breakfast was really good! They provided for us free parking and free wifi and that was definitely a bonus! We will definitely go back!

Double room was tiny with limited room for suitcases so we paid to upgrade to a 1 bedroom which gave us a king bed and a fold out sofa which was not great (spring sticking out) and was made up with a quilt cover as the bottom sheet and a blanket.. probably would have been nice to be made up as a proper bed with a nice soft quilt with a top sheet also. The light behind the TV in bedroom made a buzzing noise so we left it off, then on morning of check out there were people fixing the lift which was continuous drilling noise for hours whilst we were still trying to sleep.. I understand works need to be completed but to start around 8am when guests are still sleeping and to be such a continual vibrating/drilling noise was a bit disappointing.

Staff were lovley, breakfast had lots of options, staff were very quick to accommodate when extra blankets were requested, lifts very fast, air-conditioning worked well. Main beds comfortable.
