How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Shower is poorly designed. Water pooled up on the shower floor, as the shower drain just couldn’t cope, and overflowed out into the main area of the bathroom. This made it difficult to keep dry and was very inconvenient. Rest of the room was excellent though.
Convenient, value for money. Easy to find and access.

The room was a bit old and worn & the bathroom wasn't especially clean.
Location was perfect & after hours check in was well organised. The beds were comfortable.

If you stay a longer period, it would have been nice to make your own food in the room. The restaurants in town close too early. You can't have longer walks and then have a nice relaxing dinner later. I recommend The Old Bank Bar and Brasserie, stays open later and the food was delicious.
The Motel is the BEST location of all the tourist points to view, within walking distance. The town is not that far, plus or minus 5-10 min if that far. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a microwave, but no hot plate, so you had to buy already-made food and just warm it up.

We were sad to not have any internet, it was supposed to be back up by the time our hike was over. A black spider crawled around in bed with me (not your fault). We walked from the train station, good exercise. Super comfy bed & pillows! That's important to us.

Just a bit sturdier and better lock on the door would be ideal .
Very modern and clean and very comfortable staff were lovely . Short walk to 3 sisters but a little bit out of town . Heaps of buses though to get there and is about a 25 min walk.

We had the "family room" - yet no heating element was in the secondary room. We arrived late (after a night hike) and the front counter was closed - I wished I had known the times for the desk to ensure ease of check-in. In the secondary room the curtain was found on the ground, we had to put it back up.
Blue Mountain is so... beautiful and the hotel was close to the visitor center and hikes. Clean and large "family" room. Breakfast is available for a price - we did not opt into eating on-site.

There was mould on the bathroom ceiling which wasn't great, and I don't like the flip lock as the only lock. Also the roof light kept flickering in and out which was a bit annoying. Otherwise for the blue mountains, it was relatively cheap so, happy with my stay :)
The view wasn't bad at all, nice look onto the road with the mountains in the distance was quite pleasant to wake up to. I felt safe in the location. The bed was super comfy which was amazing. The bathroom was relatively clean. Nice spacious room, I stayed with a friend and we had plenty of room.

Wish they had turned the heater on in the room before we arrived. It was a cold wet foggy evening, the room was cold.
Room had recently been refurbished. They are love and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Accommodated our out of hours arrival.

Lauren receptionist very efficient and friendly, location excellent room good size and was surprised and pleased about the lovely hot water in the shower that didn’t go cold after a few minutes

It would have been nice to know about the check-in times on Sunday ahead of time, and more info about the breakfast options would have been useful.
