Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Original room was club side but switched would have struggled in a club side room. Also main club is only open on a Friday/Saturday

that the kitchen closed at 10 in the evening so if you went out late and had to go and do shopping you couldnt make food as they shut down the kitchen.

No sound proofing in the rooms so the noise from the ground floor bar and club was very loud til the early morning. Given the venue is part of the accommodation i would expect better. Shower door didnt close so flooded the floor.
Beds were comfy. Shower powerful. Ok for a 1 night stay. Good location to walk around Cairns. Pool is nice!

The laundry is pricey, especially as some of the dryers don’t dry your clothes completely (even on the hottest setting). There should be clothes racks on the balconies to dry clothes outside. Be aware that because this is a party hostel, guests don’t seem to have very good hostel etiquette!
Good location and like the bar on site. 24 hour reception makes things easier. The balconies are really nice. Good shower facilities and like the en suite rooms. Air con works really well.

Door in the shower doesn't close completely. It can be noisy even in the rooms facing the Street. But free earplugs are available at reception. The airconditioning cannot be turned off. The temperature should be raised if it gets too cold at night.
Good location and a great place for young people if they want to mingle and party. Gilligans is a backpacker hotel with rooms for couples or Singles. Whoever books there is aware of what awaits

A great place to stay for those looking to party, the noise from the parties at night can be a bit annoying if you're looking to rest. But the hostel's dynamics are really cool.

Taylor Swift’s music and the music so loud in general till late😩

Paid extra for a 6 bed female dorm. No plug sockets of lights near top bunk got told to plug my phone in by the sink no extension cords offered when asked not even for a deposit so I think this could be looked into to improve the experience. Was actually worse than an 8 bed female dorm to be honest so I’d save the extra money booking this room. No lockers or any where to put valuables. One coat hanger in the wardrobe. Air con hot during the day freezing at night luckily had a blanket along with a bed sheet.

Would of been nice to have a cooker in the kitchen Pool area was just a big pool party so nowhere to go and just relax by the pool like it looks in the photos very much a party place
Central location, quiet couldn’t hear the music etc from the nightclub downstairs. Has a tour booking place next door so handy Welcome drink was a nice touch

One of the floors didn't have large enough lockers to store your bags. It was only big enough for small items!
It was a party hostel, which brought a really fun atmosphere. It was nice they provided earplugs because you can definitely hear the music through the windows in some of the rooms!
