Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe place should have been cleaned prior to our arrival. Bedding was clean but nothing else. Dirty stained cups, plates with bugs on them, unvacummed floor, filthy stove/oven and microwave. All vents are uncleaned, light switches all filthy along with dirty skirting, walls and windows. Cobwebs throughout. Toilet not cleaned, nor was bathroom sink. For $200 a night we were not expecting such an unkempt place. BBQ area also neglected with rusting grill plates and unusable. I operate a cleaning business in SA (business, residential and airbnb)... retreats deserve a lot more respect and attention to detail than this place was given. Unfortunate because with care and love it could be a cosy place inside and out.
Location was nice and quite, about 1.5km out of Halls Gap. The place had comfortable beds and pillows. Tea, sugar and milk were provided along with a pkt of Tim Tam's. No coffee unfortunately. Nice to see kangaroos in the yard and cockatoos on the balcony. Our stay in Halls Gap was exceptional with many activities and sightseeing to do. A must try is the electric bikes and definitely do a hike or 2! High score for Halls Gap itself

AustraliaThe front drive was a bit steep and narrow but we got used to it.
We were two minutes drive from the town centre which was really handy. The property itself was cosy and had all we needed. At the house we fed cockatoos on our back porch, saw kangaroos along the road and caught little skinks out the front which thrilled the children. Hall's Gap Zoo was the reason we went to Hall's Gap and it turned out to be a great experience.

New ZealandMight need to look into the cloth dryer as it seemed to have the lint catcher inside keep coming off, and the front door lock is a bit wobbly which was a bit tricky to open. But everything else was great.
Beautiful location, clear communication from the host and quick responses on texts. Also fantastic value for money. The accommodation is well maintained and have very comfy beds to sleep in after a long day hiking.

AustraliaThe property is not very well kept. Too many wires in narrow spaces present tripping hazard, especially during night, when the lights are dim. Kitchen could also use a few utensils and appliances.
The property is located in a nice, quiet location. One can see many birds and even kangaroos. It is slightly off from the main market location, but not too far off. An easy walk will take you to all the restaurants in Halls Gap.

AustraliaDidn't like that it only had a double bed. It was quite comfortable though. Only a microwave in the unit, so hard to cook if raining and you can't use the BBQ. Unit a bit tired. Maybe the bigger unit has seen more love.
It was in a nice area of Halls Gap. Lots of nice big trees. Very quiet area. The BBQ on the back verandah was excellent.

AustraliaMy partner and I recently stayed at Grampian Nest, and it was an unforgettable experience. Located in a serene and quite location in the Grampians, this place is tiny but perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Accommodations are well-maintained and clean with everything one could need. Watching the kangaroos and trees while enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck was one of the highlights. You can also explore the nearby natural attractions and town. Grampian Nest is a wonderful place for nature lovers, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway. I can't wait to return!

AustraliaWe arrived at night & had trouble seeing sign for the name of the property. All the other places had road signs with their names. The verandah is a nice area but would be good to have something nicer to sit at to have breakfast or cuppa outside.
The unit had everything we needed for a short stay, it’s a small but big enough for what we needed. The cleanliness was exceptional, even though it is an older building, well maintained.
