AustraliaThe main (black) gate wasn’t opening at all, as it was jammed with it’s lock system, seems pretty old and broken. We were stuck outside and couldn’t get in to property. but the owner was very responsive and had to get in through back door . Amenities were not available at all (shower gel, body wash, soap, hand wash, tea/coffee, sugar). couldn’t have a shower 1st day. Next day it was refilled anyway. Microwave, Toaster, kitchen cabinets were pretty dirty. The was so smelly as well while checked in. The property got no private parking spot available. Parking at front is only for 1 hour or 2 hours till 5 pm on street parking. Bunk bed was pretty old and not screwed up properly. It was scary while using the ladder to climb up. The floor got a squeaky noise while walking, with extra high screws on the floor.
Nice location, close to Grampian and shopping centre, well equipped with furniture. but most of them are pretty old. Free wifi and Netflix on TV was good option though.

AustraliaWe were very disappointed in the hosting of this property. When we arrived, the chain on the blind over one of the main windows in the front room was broken and couldn't be raised. I made 5 calls to the contact number listed & sent 3 emails attempting to contact Heather, the host, to discuss this, as it really spoilt the feeling and outlook of the room (& this was the one of the main things that attracted us to this property). Although we are quite practical at fixing things like this, the height of the window made it impossible for us to try. I received no response from Heather during the 6 days of our booking. Receiving no response really soured our experience. The property has such potential but needs a thorough clean and some maintenance - there are pigeons in the bedroom ceiling that were particularly noisy in the early morning, 2 kitchen cupboard doors are off their hinges, the toilet brush was disgusting (not sure if it was clogged with black mould or faeces but we just didn't use it), one bedside lamp didn't work, the split system A/C in the front room was out of order and we couldn't lock the deadlock when we were leaving the property as from outside the key wouldn't pull out once it was locked. We are familiar with the general dust that comes with old buildings. It isn't 'old building dust' that is a concern in this property. It needs a really thorough clean. We had ample crockery and cutlery but other food preparation & cooking equipment is pretty limited.
This property has excellent potential. The central location is great. The floorplan is good and the interior decoration has been really well done. The views from the front room, kitchen & main bedroom are good. It was cold weather during our 6 night stay. With the gas heater in the front room and heating in the kitchen and bedroom, we were comfortably warm at all times. The room sizes are spacious for 2 people. We're not sure what relevance the photo of the Post Office has in the advertising of this property though. You don't have a view of the Post Office building as presented in the photo from any of the property windows. We are comfortable in 3 star accommodation but it needs to be clean and well maintained. At present we would rate this property as a low 3 star. We believe, with maintenance and cleaning, it could be a very comfortable and high 3 star.
