Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe breakfast was a serve-yourself style, with fully stocked pantries of breakfast items to choose from. This was nice but not quite what I expected - I was expecting a warm breakfast buffet option prepared for guests. This was more my own misunderstanding than any issue with what was provided. The kitchen was well-stocked and in a way it was nice to feel like it was my own kitchen as I prepared myself a little muesli bowl. Perhaps just something that could be made more clear to potential guests on booking.com and the hotel website. It would also be nice to have more vegan/gluten-free options, although Ash kindly got us some almond milk when we asked so not an issue at all. Of the tea options in the cupboard, my favourite peppermint was missing (but other options made up for it).
Grande Vue is a gorgeous bed & breakfast. The style, quality and tasteful details of the interior spaces made it feel like a home away from home. It was warm, cozy and very comfortable (bonus points for hydroponic heating, including in the bathroom keeping our towels nice and warm). We had a stunning view from our window which made waking up in a the morning a pure delight. Ash was a very accomodating host and it was nice seeing the hotel owners in the space - they have clearly taken a lot of care to make it stylish and inviting. The freshly baked cookies in the kitchen and decanter and glasses of sherry in the sitting room made for extra loving touches.

AustraliaIf only we could have stayed longer, there was really nothing to dislike.
A wonderful welcome from Ash who remained available but not at all intrusive throughout our stay. Our generously proportioned room was fantastic with amazing views along the river. Everything was superb. A simple, yet hearty, self service breakfast eaten in the dining room was a lovely start to each day. Guest sitting rooms also had a lovely calming, relaxed atmosphere. Great recommendations for local places to enjoy drinks or dinner.

AustraliaOnly a couple of really tiny things that may be personal preference. For example the room was too warm for us on the last night, but because it is centrally heated we were unable to control the temp in the middle of the night. Nothing that impacted on our enjoyment. Overall, a fantastic stay.
Beautiful rooms, great location, awesome hosts. The bed was comfortable, the view amazing, we loved it.

AustraliaThe Grand Vue is a beautiful old style hotel in a beautiful part of Hobart. Easy walks to Battery Point village and to Salamanca. The hotel has a B&B vibe with wonderful hosts who make you feel at home, but will all the privacy of a hotel. our room was a one bedroom suite with plenty of space to relax. We just loved coming back to the hotel after a day out.

AustraliaMade to feel right at home from the moment we checked in. Ash & Brock are so friendly and helpful and have created a really special place to stay. The shared facilities like the kitchen and living areas are perfectly designed and very well kept. The comfort and charm of this place is unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere.

The bed was super comfy and the room was so quiet. Perfect for a good night's sleep. The spa bath was fantastic. The friendly atmosphere amongst staff and guests was an unexpected joy. Ash was very welcoming. The hotel is a short walk from most of the sights we wanted to go to in Hobart, including Salamanca market. Feeling pampered and super recharged!

United StatesLovely hotel in Battery Point, near good coffee (Kombi), a venerable pub (Shipwright's) and a great baker (Jackman). The views of the river and hills from room #7 were fantastic. The room was spacious. There's no bathtub in this room; shower had good water pressure and very hot water. There's a fridge, kettle, Nespresso, sink, and microwave in the room, and you're near the very lovely kitchen which offered lots of breakfast supplies and afternoon snacks. The location is an easy 12-minute walk to Salamanca Market. I chose this location and lodging for the quiet and found that they were indeed very quiet. No noise at all from the street; sound does travel a bit from one room to the next but that was not at all an issue -- I'm highly noise sensitive and found the room very tranquil. I had to store my luggage for a few hours after checking out and the managers were very helpful with that even though they are not on site.

AustraliaThere really wasn't anything to dislike! If we had really had to comment, it would have been good to have digital channels on TV - but that was not necessary to our stay.
We were pleasantly surprised at the unique style of the beautiful hotel. It felt so home-like and all finishing touches were lovely!! The location was amazing, the room was comfortable and snug, and a good check in and check out. We got to meet one of the Managers and his gorgeous Dog Winston, they were both very friendly. Will definitely stay again when we visit Tassie in 2023.
