Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

- This would be lovely to not worry that we have to meet the owner at the property and just be able to self check in. I was worried we are holding up the owner with our not clear defined time of arrival. - Night was quite chilly, and it was hard to choose between very bright light from the turned on aircon or being cold - There is no door to the bathroom, I think this would be lovely if there is one. Didn't bother us much, because there is still a door to the bedroom itself, but it's still nice for privacy. - Note (I know some people are quite touchy about it), it's not a standalone granny flat, this is part of the house, with one door locked and blocked by the room divider. Didn't bother us at all, owner is very quiet and we didn't feel anything wrong or disturbing with it
Lovely place to stop over. Tidy, well maintained. Similar to a motel, but you are in a residential area, so it's quiet. Owner is very lovely, very responsive and shown us everything on arrival. Has everything you might need, including microwave and fridge. Great place to stop over if it's on your way, definitely recommend it. Thank you so much for hosting us!

There wasn't any cooktop but still for that price was more than enough.
The granny was clean and tidy, the bed was absolutely comfortable and as i was there for work the location was more than perfect

I couldn't find an outside light, and I forgot to tell the owner that the kitchen plug needs replacing.
This is a delightful little Granny Flat, much nicer than the photos showed. My host was a delight. The Granny Flat is attached to the owners house. I felt safe and secure, with off street parking

Chairs not comfortable for older couple. Needed a top sheet and a cotton blanket because Fiona was too hot.

No water pressure in kitchen. Lack of cooking items and decent cutlery. No Stove. No condiments. A few tea bags and coffee satchels in side of fridge. No dishwasher. Shower is in the bath. Mop and bucket left next to the toilet for us to use in case of water on floor after shower. Small couch very uncomfortable. Small TV that only has local channels. Sitting on a small plastic table. Coming in after dark with no outside light to see where I’m going. The Two Towels provided were very Old and Worn.
Having my own little area to myself. It is attached to the house, but had my own entry off driveway. Where I could park my hire car. Also had heating unit of a nighttime.

need to replace window blinds, not fully closing. Also need to add dark curtain in living room as it is see through currently. No privacy. Also shower curtain is old days, need to do something with it. I don't like when it stick to you when you washing there. Better build window screen in shower

The property was double booked when we arrived at 6.30pm (after a flight and long drive). It then took us two hours and numerous phone calls to find alternative accommodation, which when eventually found was quite some distance away. There were two major events in the area so all accommodation we tried was booked out. How does a double booking occur? Our dates and the other occupants' dates clashed. The system should NOT allow this to happen. We received no support from Booking.com - other than a message the next day, where they hoped we managed to find other accommodation "with no trouble." How wrong they were!
The owner kindly tried to help us by contacting booking.com, but other than that, it was an awful experience. Our booking was in the accommodation records, but the other person had arrived before us, so they were already booked in. We wonder how a double booking like this happens. The owner also followed up the next day, by text, to see if Booking.com helped us out, but as they hadn't at that stage, the whole exercise was quite distressing.

Cockroaches in the bedroom, no spray to deal with them, no top sheet on the bed ( only a doona - too hot!), window blinds are broken and don't work very well. Its so dark in there and the lighting is dreadful. Shower tap drips all night.
Location is quiet and not too far from the hospital. Nice big space, good off street parking. Clean. Good price. Lovely, friendly host.

No oven or washing machine (if it had these i think it would have been worth $700 for the week). Ants in the bathroom and kitchen. Took about an hour 15 mins on public transport to get to the city.
Bed was comfortable and the owner was lovely.

There is no door between bathroom and the bedroom. Also we saw a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom even though we didn't open the window or left outside door open.
The apartment was clean and comfortable. We had a good communication with the host and she was very helpful. Overall it is a good value for money.

The toilet has no door, no drainage system, no light, or even an exhaust fan in the toilet. The property seems it hasn’t been cleaned forever. The lady further plays her piano really loudly, and we could hear it all the time.

Air conditioning is only in the bedroom, I stayed in November and it was too hot to sit in the lounge room. The blinds n the bedroom , let all the light in which means you are awake at 4 am, not the best for holidays. It’s part of the host house so windows are boarded up which I find weird. They don’t accept payment before you arrive so she send a text with account number when you arrive. Than follows up in 10 minutes if payment not received , didn’t have time to unpack without being followed up. Obviously she can hear everything you do, I was running the bath and got sent a text about that. It’s just not for me , not relaxing but perhaps it works for you and the price is right.
The price was excellent and I guess you can’t expect a lot for the price, however I still expect comfort
