Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe beds were quite soft which was uncomfortable for my travelling companion. The room and bathroom were a bit outdated and the lighting in the bathroom was terrible
It was mostly a quiet location although there was some noise from other guests. It was easy to walk to the Hunter Valley Gardens just down the road. The big bathroom was good and the shower had lots of pressure.

Australiamuch more outputs to plug in your phone etc and maybe more lounge chairs to watch TV.
the location was great ! I found the breakfast was a little expensive for what you got and also the cappuccino was not great for the flavour I preferred having my coffee back in the room.

AustraliaOdour in room. A few bits of crockery/cutlery would be useful. Shower screen let water out. Food and drinks (particularly) so expensive.
Central to wineries. Accom, food, entertainment in one. Parking included. Room attended to daily (unexpected). Strong shower pressure.

AustraliaCan’t really complain about much as the price for the facilities it offers is great. If I was to be very picky it would be the strong bleach smell used in the cleaning of the rooms on occasions and sometimes the bed linen had the oil smell from the industrial cleaning process.
Have stayed many times at Harrigans. Definitely great value for money. Love you can park your car directly in front of your room. Great for me as often ride out on the motorcycle and having the security of undercover parking directly in front of the room is a plus. Having a restaurant in the premises is great and a pool for the warmer months is fantastic.

United KingdomThis is basically an Irish pub with motel rooms. We stayed on a Saturday night and it was noisy. There were countless stag and hen parties and there was nowhere to sit in the bar. We managed to get the last available table in the restaurant, but probably only because we ate at 6:30! The check in has to be done at the nearby Mercure hotel. This is not made clear until much later. I got the email telling us this from booking.com hours into our stay. You also get an email after you have paid, when it is too late to do anything about it, to tell you it will be noisy. When we checked in we were greeted by one of the absolute worst receptionists I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I tried to ask some basic questions and she got incredibly defensive and aggressive. Eventually the manager must have heard and came out to see what her issue was.
Great location in the centre of the Hunter Valley. Close to lots of wineries. The rooms were basic, but clean. The staff in the restaurant and wine shop were exceptional and friendly.

AustraliaI think the kitchennette in the deluxe suite needs a little upgrade. In the executive suites, the mesh and locks on the fly screen doors could use a bit of an upgrade. We enjoyed leaving the door open for fresh air but we had lots of small insects flying in! Also, one TV remote kept freezing, especially the volume and on/off button.
The space and view was spectacular for a family of 4. To be able to accomodate 3 sets of families in the one location was easy and awesome. Staff were lovely, venue was clean, and the pool was a bonus. The pub at the location which made finding somewhere to eat less stressful, especially with kids. Kid friendly location and decently priced for the spacious rooms we all got.

United KingdomThe staff in the pub/bistro appeared disorganised and food was ok but not great given the setting.
Accommodation was lovely, spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom/shower. Shame that we were only there overnight, would have liked to have stayed longer to explore the vineyards/wineries/restaurants in the area.
