Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMy first review of a hotel ever. The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty big. The location is good. Very busy with lots of guests which I actually prefer and the reception team were good :) My stay was a last minute decision, I had no plans to do this but decided to and it worked out really well. Initial thoughts at reception and about hotel was changed to be very positive and I am grateful for everything. Thank you! Brekky was good, only stayed two nights. Other reviews state about the hotel next door being loud, but one night (Boxing day night) was completely fine. The other night I stayed Christmas day so it would have been closed. Hotel housekeepers greet you when you meet them in the lift which was lovely. Slippers provided free of charge when I asked at reception. There is another review about the shower and the potential fine if the fire alarm is set off because of the steam (this review is one which I really appreciated). I admit it stressed me a little bit but I just took short showers. I also kept the door closed (like they ask you to). The lights are very bright and good which I really liked and there is also a black out curtain! Also, bear in mind the key may not work if you keep it too close to your mobile - if so, head down to reception and they will sort it out for you :) Overall thank you very much :)

AustraliaThe bathroom was quite tight and there is a lack of ventilation. And the potential for a large fine if steam got into the main room, made for a rather uncomfortable and humid bathroom.
It was a great location with yummy breakfast and good sized beds. The blockout blinds are amazing!

AustraliaThere is a nightclub next door, Mr. B's, so if you are not part of the nightlife crowd and do what to actually go to sleep at night, I would recommend elsewhere. Mr. B's keep their doors open blaring their music, my microwave plate was rattling and my water on my bedside was moving whilst on the 9th floor. The shower facilities definitely need to be looked at, I had 2 rooms while there and both rooms the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and just flooded. One of the shower doors was wonky and didn't close and split more water on to the floor. You have to shower with the door closed or it will set of the smoke alarm - but there is NO ventilation in the bathroom, no exhaust fan, it was awful. The hotel controls the air con, me and my friend were not appreciative of this. I am paying for my stay I want complete control. There are sensors in the rooms and the air con turns off within 30 minutes of leaving the room, this was also just not on! It was hot, so whenever we returned to our rooms we returned to a hot box. Take the sensors out of the rooms, we are paying enough money to have a nice cool room to return to! The elevator sounds, it dings 5x and there is NO soundproofing, at all! The walls are like cardboard, and actually move when the door is shut next door. My whole bed would move because the walls move when the neighbors closed the door. You can hear everything on the streets even on the 16th floor. One morning the housekeeping started at 7am, vacuuming with the door open, I am on holiday, I do not require a 7am wake up call by a vacuum when I am trying to relax. I did open my door and ask housekeeping "what the hell?". The eggs! Whyyyyy are the scrambled eggs so oily? They were disgusting. There was little choice at breakfast, but still enough to get fed. Nothing to write home about. I am well aware this is a "budget" accommodation, but it was still an expensive stay with the higher weekend rates.
The staff, I cannot fault them, they were always helpful, and very sorry about the nightclub noise, it seems that the Ibis staff are always trying to get on top of it, they complain, Mr. B's is fined, Mr. B's doesn't care and they just do it again. I tip my hat to the Ibis staff who have to deal with this. I was on the 9th floor, and after no sleep the first night, they moved me to the 16th floor to see if it was better for me, they tried to rectify immediately. Staff 10/10.
