We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaIt wasn’t what was advertised on booking.com. The towels were dirty or ripped, there was dishes in the sink. Some of the sheets had stains on them. It looked nothing like the photos that I looked at when I looked at places to book. The extra covers smelt weird.

AustraliaThe room was dirty, the toilet smelt of pee, the fridge was dirty and it had mould in it, which they did not clean after I asked them to clean it, the benches had food and cockroach poo on it and the room stank. I tried two times to ask for the room to be cleaned and also offered to pay one nights accommodation for a refund of the rest of the nights but they refused to answer my messages and shut up the reception so I couldn’t see them. Pathetic
This was a disgusting place to stay and should be reported. The room was filthy and wasn’t cleaned from the last guests and the manager made excuses about lazy staff. We then asked twice for it to be rectified and the efforts they put in were pathetic. Booking.com recommended they refund us but they refused. Do not stay here. It’s horrible!

AustraliaVery dirty. No soap, shampoo or conditioner. No milk for a coffee. The sheets were not clean they had what looked like blue texta on them. The floors were not clean. The previous owner provided a great service, always. It’s suitable now for rough workers only.
