How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Some of the fixtures and fittings were showing their age. Lots of 'rules' posted around the building.
Location. Staff seemed friendly. Well equiped kitchen apart from the lack of salt and pepper.

I had a spa bath in my room but there was no plug for the bath! On checkout we needed to leave our bags with reception so we could look around the city but was told this was unavailable

It needs an update , very old furniture and one toilet didn’t work, one bed held up with tiles, very dusty especially window frames mentioned to reception but cleaning staff gone :(

Can be really Dangerous climbing out of the bath. Its quite high and has no handle for support. For such a costly accommodation I would expect more than 2 tiny tubes of shampoo for 2 people for 4 days.
Loved the location and the size of the apartment. It was quite clean and comfi.

Apartment was great overall. One area that could be easily upgraded would be the cutlery. We were paying top dollar for the apartment but the cutlery definitely wasn't the same standard - not all from the same set, and definitely feeling very cheap. The bed squeaked with any movement, and we were a little surprised to find just a double bed rather than a Queen or King bed in this grade of apartment. Despite this, we would stay there again.
Location was great! Central city, close to Queen St Mall, easy to find. Apartment was very good. History of the building (in terms of General MacArthur's stay there) was very interesting and the museum on the 8th floor was fascinating.

double bed too small for 2 people - would be nice if upgraded to queen. New pillows need to be purchased. unit showing some signs of age and wear and tear. toilet needs replacing (constant running water) some of the doors stick and need to be pushed hard to open. corner spa bath and shower could be an issue for mobility challenged

There was a couple of spots on the carpet, and it would be helpful if when booking, the website said what floor the room was on. The Wifi didn't work.
The apartment on the sixth floor was very spacious and had everything we needed. It had a v small balcony which was nice, but a bit overshadowed by the high rise building next door.

The communication could have been a lot better. For example, we booked a parking space beforehand but received no instructions about it. The car park is in a shopping centre adjacent and since we arrived after hours we were not aware of this. We also received a text message only an hour before check-in with a door code (there are several number pads) and a code for a key box which we took a while to find. Also no instructions on what floor the room was on. We also specifically searched for a hotel with a pool. This hotel came up in the search but we only saw in the small print on the actual hotel website after booking that the pool is currently closed.
The rooms are very spacious and clean. The location is excellent with most things within walking distance.
