Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe facilities they advertise in the hotel aren't in the hotel they're in a complex next door. The great looking roof top bar in the pictures couldn't be accessed ? The room is even tinier than it looks in the pictures. It was very clean and the bed is comfy. So if all you need is a bed that's clean it's fine.

AustraliaWifi was slow and dropped out regularly. Staff were disinterested in fixing it. Housekeeping was ordinary - usually first class but lots of things were missed. Bins not emptied, had to go to cafe to get some sugar - newbie? Expensive rooms for not much service.
Location was convenient for event - not so for any other things you might want to do. Comfortable basic 3.5 star motel.

AustraliaWe chose to have our room serviced 2/5 nights. The first was perfect the second not so much- the room still felt dirty with the bins full and beds not as tidy.
Staff lovely and helpful on arrival. Good location and fairly spacious room. Room can be serviced every day. Roof top bar is a nice touch and does daily specials although be mindful- we went on Wednesday for 50% food and there was 1.5 hour wait on food and slow service. Good location and proximity to theme parks, surfers paradise and Broadbeach. Complementary parking was a fantastic bonus. Easy key drop in car park or at desk.

AustraliaI was very disappointed with the value for money. I paid $364 to stay one night in a small motel room which consisted of a bedroom & a bathroom.
It was conveniently situated next to the Sharks club which allowed access to the dining facilities. It was close to the main Gold Coast highway so one didn't have to drive all the way into Southport.

AustraliaNot a lot of space in the room. Put the ironing board up and you can't move around the bed. Bathroom was very dark. Also the door to the room opens up directly facing the bed. Felt very squishy. The kitchenette/bathroom basin in the same area. Would have liked that separated.
Room was clean, compete with glasses, ironing board and comfortable bed. Liked the large full length mirror.

NigeriaThe property told us to pay extra money for our room to be serviced. We believe the cost of servicing our room was covered by the money paid. The housekeeping staff was very rude and racially discriminatory.

AustraliaNo one at reception to meet/greet, $100 deposit should have been made more obvious, not when booking in I enquired about roof top bar but wasn’t told it didn’t open until 4. I proceeded to go up in lift and wasn’t able to, I was then stuck in lift - tried calling receptionist but no response

Australia- Using Booking.com, I upgraded the original booking which was a single room with a bed to a room with a sofa bed. My son now needed to come so we needed an extra sleeping space. This cost me $70 to upgrade, which was fine. - I used the message feature to contact them and ask for the sofa bed to be made up. They replied saying I needed to change my booking to include an extra person. - After then calling to make this change (seems to defeat the purpose of an online messaging feature) they charged $20 to make up the sofa bed, even though I'd paid $70 to upgrade the room. I've never experienced this in a hotel before. - The room had a dull smell of cigarettes. As if someone in before us was a smoker and left that smell behind. A bit off putting. However, I was exhausted by the time I'd checked in with two kids, emptied our stuff, and just dealt with it. - I asked for a late checkout a couple of times. They said they were far too busy to accommodate that. Carpark was very empty and I didn't see any other guests around during our stay. I'm not sure I believe that. - Room service was average for the price
Room was modern and a great size. Spacious, good kitchenette, great bathroom. Hotel was quiet and not busy.

AustraliaDidn't like the room size, the kitchenette had a little vanity basin sink. No where to purchase snacks or water to take to the room other than the club. A vending machine would have been perfect. The nearest service station Foodary was a short walk across a main highway. The sandwiches there were stale.
Staff were not knowledgeable with Booking com. While travelling from Brisbane to the hotel, I received a call from reception requesting payment for the room, I confirmed twice that I prepaid the room. If I was not consistent with having paid, this staff would have continued to haggle me for money. In addition, I was asked to pay an additional $100 as a deposit for the room, refundable after 3-4 days, which is not in the reservation details. The room was more of a single than a double, really tight to walk around the bed. There was no where to buy fresh water or drinks to take to the room apart from purchasing from the Mantra Sharks Club, which I we did with dinner.

AustraliaBe aware that there is a rooftop bar. it is extremely noisy if you are staying on the fourth floor. staff don't care, pretty sure they have been told to say that the bar has to follow strict noise guidelines and blah blah blah. Then I am positive. leaders were playing basketball with the furniture the next morning!!! very noisy from 7.45am, went and complained and was told again that they are following strict noise guidelines blah blah blah. management need to spend a night in 409 and see how noisy it actually is and do something about it. they got $350 of my money this time, but never again.
