check out was. a minus. i was given an extra hour check out after a lot of dicussion betwen the desk and management. when departing i was asked to pay 20 dollars for the extra 30 minutes. this led to another bad discussion. my reaction to this was never coming back. i have stayed there many times. i will be back as i guess those 2 wont be still there

on arrival the reception with david was excellent as it was my 82 birthday he sent a a bottle of wine to my room. thank you David

This was a long anticipated weekend away to celebrate our Anniversary. Our room was very ordinary to say the least! The bedroom to our unit was located directly opposite the main foyer for that floor which was extremely noisy in the mornings. We were woken both morning by other guests moving about early and doors slamming to their units as they come and went. Very poor room layout to have the bedroom as the first room you enter from the foyer and therefore was not the late relaxing mornings we were so looking forward to!

Everything. They also organised a card and gift for my husbands 50th birthday, and that was a lovely touch! We had 3 families celebrating with us, and we were all happy. We love staying at the Mantra.

I am not sure if all the rooms were mini suits but it was fantastic. great size, full kitchenette and laundry. the bed was super comfy. staff were all happy and helpful. location fabulous. Pool great.

The staffs knowledge of surrounding areas was poor IE no one had any knowledge of the Hinterland towns

1. There was a light outside our door which lit our bedroom up all ight which made it very difficult to sleep. I did advise the staff but they did nothing about it. 2. We had maintenance and a fire officer visit three times on different days which spoilt our privacy. 3. The room was suppose to be a superior room but the carpet was very old and worn and unclean. 4. The tv was quite difficult to use it kept going back from tv shows to the HDIM setting 5. The air-conditioning was noisy so we did not run it much even though it was hot. 6. The basement area had a fowl smell every time we had to go to our vehicle.

2nd shower was unusable as the shower head would just spray door. The hose was that curled up we couldn't use it.

The location was great, lovely views of the beach and ocean. There are plenty of places to eat and good coffee shops close by. Rooms were very clean and well kept.

The AC unit was really loud, but we didn't need it anyways, since the air-flow is fantastic.

The two-bedroom apartment was so spacious and beautiful. Two bathrooms, (one with separate toilet). A spa tub in the ensuite. Gorgeous views from the balcony.

I paid for an upgrade, wasn’t a cheap booking but as it was anniversary I thought why not. the room bedroom was tiny. the room was at the end of the building above the road so very noisy, paid the extra for a sea view got 1/2 of one and the deck was so tiny you couldn’t move around. Really disappointed.

We have stayed at The Mantra before, but, on this occasion, we felt that the hotel was showing real sign of its age. It is looking tired and in desperate need of of an upgrade and looking a bit grubby really.
