How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The fact that there was no room cleaning and you had to change your own sheets and towels was a bit off a let down. I understand during covid this was an issue but should not really apply now.
Rooms were nice. Perfect location. Friendly hosts. No children was a bonus as it was very quite and relaxing.

Nothing couldn’t fault a thing.
Great location walking distance to Main Street with cafes and restaurants. Lovely pool and spa with the added bonus of no children so nice and quiet. Room was very spacious with big balcony and great kitchen if you wanted to cook(not that we did) Comfortable bed exceptionally clean unit. Could not fault it. Would definitely stay again.

We were disappointed with the room we were given. It was not like the one shown on the website video. Yes it was ground floor. Yes It had a timber deck although with a difficult pool access. Yes it was a one bedroom apartment. But was it what we saw on the website - NO! It was stuck at the end of the complex like an after thought looking onto to a brick wall & not open & looking out to the pool area. We thought it was a tired room in need of some renovation, particularly the bathroom.

We found bloodstains and a pack of wet wipes under the bed, which kept moving. Not enough tea bags. The staff helped us arrange a shuttle to the airport, but they didn't account for additional pickup stops which meant we barely made our flight.
Great location, walking distance to the strip, the marina, and the four mile beach.

Had a fabulous stay at the Meridian! Studio apartment was clean and well equipped with all we needed for our stay. Very soft and comfortable bed. Pool was heated and fabulous to both swim in and relax beside. John and Sue were lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect - 3 min walk to beach or Macrossan street at 10min walk to marina. Being adult only accommodation was great for us - it was awesome to have such a quiet and peaceful time poolside. Thank you for a relaxed week!

Although i understand Covid 19 has caused massive disruptions/changes to how things are done i think to ask guests to change sheets, towels etc for their room is a bit cheeky. We had a large group of friends join us in port douglas and we all stayed in different locations and after enquiring with our friends they all stated their rooms were being cleaned as per normal by a staff member of the hotel where they were staying. I just think for the higher end prices we paid that it should be something thats included.
This place was great, relaxing as theres no children allowed. The pool area is great and its not too far to walk to the main group of pubs and shops. Friendly staff and the rooms are a good size.

You need to put the car park entry key pad on a 30cm stalk so that it is easier to access. Also you need to do something similar for the exit fob. The current arrangement is totally inadequate and not in keeping with the rest of the property.
