Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The smell! Reception and corridors smelt very musty. However it was during the 'wet'. The room didn't smell. I thought that cleaning the ablutions and mopping corridor floor at 9am was a little inconvenient for me that is. But I got the impression that there were a lot of workers living here, so it suited them I expect.
Convenient, inexpensive, good facilities, friendly and informative receptionist even though it was late on Christmas day! Clean, crisp linen. Comfortable bunk with privacy curtain. Huge bonus points for that! The bunkroom was big with large individual, lockable (own padlock) cupboards. I only stayed overnight so didn't use what appeared to be excellent recreational facilities - swimming pools, sun loungers, kitchen, and shaded dining area. All outside on second floor. So good view of the street.

Toilet and shower facilities are a bit dated and not well ventilated. It would be better if they can provide more power outlets next to the upper bunk beds.
Spacious room with decent aircon, by decent I mean they're literally blasting cold aircon, which is much needed in Darwin weather. They've also got a pool and on-site DJs.

The bed was very uncomfortable however it is a backpackers so I didn't expect too much
My stay was for less than 24 hours as we needed somewhere between flights to sleep. I didn't get to explore the property however our rooms had aircon, the bathroom was clean and it was private so we were happy.

The rooms are a bit cramped, no chargers near the top bunks, you have to make your own bed and they don’t even give you a comforter. No towel unless you want to pay. Bathroom is fine but it’s not amazing. Gets cleaned once a day. The rooms were not always that clean but it wasn’t that bad, like it’s fine. It could be a lot worse but it is shocking what you get for what you pay, especially if you’ve ever stayed at hostels in Asia or even some along the east coast.
The location is perfect, walking distance from good bars, restaurants, waterfront, etc. The pool and bar are lovely, good happy hour deals Nice kitchen quite big Good events

Cleaners stole a 2500$ ring while cleaning our room . Cleaners normally vacuumed and empty bins , the day the ring was taken the bin was emptied and the ring taken from bed side table.

There was a number of things I felt very uncomfortable about. Firstly the room I was booked into -they went to go in the room and someone was there. Then the room that was booked was very sad -there was noticeable dints in the plaster and rusty lampshade. The price paid was mainly for the location as it was very noisy and felt prison like in the hallways. The kitchen facilities were ok, typical hostel.
The location was ideal, right on the Main Street. The upstairs pool was spectacular and the basic needs are met to a modest degree -for the city centre hostel the cleanliness and the quality was not there for the price though

The hallway corridor smelt like dirty socks but other than that it was what I expect in a big hostel.
Fantastic location, easy to access facilities. Coles across the road and kitchen had what you needed to make meals etc. Music was going and definitely a party vibe but it was great and the rooms were quiet from 11pm so I didn't find it a problem

Bed matress pillow and blanket. No soap or towel provided no brekky included.
Location was food and they try to keep the place clean as well. But bed pillow blankets are not good at all , blankets bit smelly and old matress is too soft. Staff are nice, pool looks clean, kitchen looks enough space, overall good dor money.
