Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe shower was not very practical if you want a dry bathroom floor - the curtain did not reach the bottom of the shower recess, so water can drip underneath the curtain and onto the floor. In addition, it was a hand-held shower - if you leave it on the shower rail, it points outwards and onto the curtain (which doesn't reach the ground) so water splashes outside. If you take it off the rail, it's impossible to try and wash your hair if you want to keep the bathroom floor dry. The bathroom itself is large, so water outside the shower area didn't affect the entire bathroom floor, but it was a juggle to try and keep things as dry as possible. The spare blankets (kept inside a lovely old-style suitcase with a vase of dry flowers) were very dusty - we took them out to potentially use for bed time, but the act of moving the blankets and opening them up seemed to stir up a lot of dust (not sure if it was the blankets, or the dry flowers, or the suitcase in which they were kept). Definitely not deal breakers for the otherwise lovely stay, just observations!
What a beautiful property - an old mansion next to a church in a central location that has been converted into lovely spacious rooms! We were attracted by the size of the room - very generous. I think the rooms are marketed for bridal parties as our room had a "bride" dressing gown and two fashion mannequins which are presumably used for hanging bridal dresses! We were NOT staying in Geelong for a wedding, but enjoyed the extra space nonetheless. There was a comfortable bed, a sofa with long coffee table, and a dresser with mirrors (clearly designed for bridal party make-up application!). Hydronic heating was very efficient. Decor was old fashioned to suit the style of the mansion and made it seem 'special'. As is typical with older rooms, there were fewer power points for devices, but the owners made sure there was a power board so we could connect multiple devices at once. Hydronic heating was fantastic, with spare blankets in case we were cold (but the duvet was fine with the room heated). Mini bar fridge meant we could keep snacks and drinks cool. The bathroom was extremely large, lovely amenities and thick towels. Free wifi through the property. There were also very stylish and practical common areas - the lounge area with bay windows and street views, and an enormous communal kitchen (which we didn't use). Check-in/out was easy with the electronic instructions (complete with pictures for each step!) and keypad PIN, and having a dedicated car space was greatly appreciated. Due to the spacious room there was space to spread things out to unpack. All in all, a lovely stay in a historic mansion and it's beautiful to see the 'grand old style' of older times preserved for modern use!

AustraliaLoved the ambience, only down side was the shower, as hard as I tried not to, I still got water on the floor as the shower curtain was too short and didn’t reach right around shower cubicle otherwise it is one of the best places I have ever stayed.

New ZealandWould have liked a few more utensils with which to cook with as didn't want to use the metal objects on non-stick surfaces. Also a labeling system for food in the fridge/pantry would have been helpful as we didn't know how to let others know they could use our left over items.
The styling of the interiors was amazing. Felt like we were staying in a posh hotel. The customer service was also above and beyond expected.

South AfricaThere was a stale smell in the room/bathroom. The toilet seat is very old and has a bad smell, might be good to replace it.

NetherlandsNothing or maybe the fact that we only stayed for 2 nights 😉
We liked everything about this place. It's a great building with lots of nice ce details everywhere. The room was huge, aswell as the bathroom. It was clean and cosy. The kitchen was also huge with everything you needed and more. They even have a Nespresso machine with cups and a milk frother. We would definitely recommend this place!

AustraliaNothing to say here.
Everything, I presume the property is looked after by the church and those responsible do it in a beautiful way. We were respectful of that. Loved the location, we could walk to access all the city had to offer.
