Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaLove the property, the location is very strategic and easy access with tram as well as walking distance to Southern Cross Station/Spencer Outlet Mall with coles and other shops. The property condition is superb and clean. I especially appreciate the view 😍 The host is very kind to help us amend the date of check in as our flight got rescheduled as well. Superb stay!

AustraliaSome minor maintenance that needs attention.
Location was fantastic. Access to gym and pools was a bonus. Layout of apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was perfect for our family. Nice and warm in the Melbourne winter.

AustraliaOur experience was nothing like what was shown in the online pictures. The apartment we were given looked completely different and was in poor condition. The carpets, couch, and pillows were heavily stained, and there were scuff marks all over the walls, which gave the place a very unclean feel. The couch was also broken, making it unusable. There were no pillow slips provided, no mattress toppers, and the sheets and blankets were incredibly thin – definitely not what you’d expect for a comfortable stay. We contacted the host asking for pillow slips, and when we returned later that day, we were shocked to find a man dressed in all black inside the apartment, having let himself in to deliver them. This was extremely unsettling and felt like a serious breach of privacy and security. On top of that, they only provided one key for four people, which made coming and going a hassle. Check-in was another issue – no instructions were sent, and we had to reach out ourselves once we arrived. They ignored all our phone calls, which made the situation even more frustrating. Overall, the place was nothing like advertised, poorly maintained, and poorly managed. We absolutely would not stay here again.

AustraliaOur two-night midweek stay at Nest@639 got off to a rough start and didn’t improve much from there. Despite multiple messages, we received no check-in details or apartment number until 90 minutes before the scheduled check-in time. We were then asked to pay a $300 bond, which I had assumed was already handled through Booking.com. Only after payment were we given access instructions—one of which was to “tailgate” someone into the building, as no access code was provided. This felt incredibly dodgy and unprofessional. Once inside, the keys and swipe card weren’t in the mailbox as promised, prompting more phone calls and waiting. A staff member eventually arrived and walked us to the apartment but had to return again just to bring one key and one swipe card, which is frustrating when more than one person is staying. The intercom system was also broken, meaning we couldn’t buzz in any guests. Combined with the single key/card situation, this made coming and going unnecessarily difficult. As for the apartment: Pros: Great views Centrally located Cons: Unclean: Hair and dust in the bathroom, stained and broken couch, and sheets so thin you could see the unprotected mattress beneath. Handprints and dirty walls. It is dirty. Broken sliding door to the second bedroom that wouldn’t close. Sketchy building: Police and detectives seen visiting more than once during our stay. Poor communication and access setup made the entire experience feel disorganised and unwelcoming. If you just need a cheap place to crash and aren’t fussed about cleanliness, safety, or basic hospitality standards, it might do. But if you value a smooth check-in, a clean space, and a sense of security—look elsewhere. This is a 3-star apartment

AustraliaWonderful location, very affordable. The apartment was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The views were beautiful overlooking the water and the AFL stadium . So close to Southern Cross station and tram stops perfect for anyone looking to experience Melbourne at it's very finest.

AustraliaHosts were receptive and understanding about a change of dates. Great views and comfortable facilities. It's right in the heart of Melbourne, and across the road from Southern Cross Train Station, so very easy access there.
