Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaStopped in here for a night on my drive to Brisbane. I got the private room which was larger than I expected, had two pillows, a very decent towel and a very comfy bed. My expectations were certainly exceeded.

AustraliaIt's a shame that a freezer isn't available. I had been using freezer blocks to keep my self-catering supplies cold while I was travelling between accommodation stops and I couldn't freeze them during my stay at Ozzie Pozzie. It's a minor inconvenience in light of all the other wonderful facilities, and probably something that wouldn't be an issue for 99% of guests.
I stayed for 2 nights (26 & 27 March 2025). The staff at Ozzie Pozzie Backpackers are wonderful (shout out to Sarah and Sophie). I felt very welcome and Sarah was very patient when my check-out morning didn't go to plan and I was delayed. I was in Room #11 and I would definitely stay in that room again! 😄 The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room has a ceiling fan, and windows you can open to let in fresh air. The bathroom was clean and roomy. The desk and chair in the room was the perfect size for me to set up my mobile office, with power points perfectly located. Parking is convenient either in the car park or on-street parking right out front. The communal kitchen is spacious and well equipped for all your self-catering needs. The food labelling system is convenient and effective. They have so much to do there that you wouldn't have to leave the site if you didn't want to go exploring Port Macquarie. The pool area has plenty of seating, a couple of tables, and it even has a little sheltered nook with a hammock and lounges behind a lovely garden. You'll also find a raised lounge area looking out at the pool that has room enough for your exercise workouts. You'll find plenty of games, a reading room loaded with books, ping pong and pool tables, plus TV room with plenty of movies to choose from. You can trust the photos on their official website.

United KingdomThe staff here were so lovely and accommodating with our greyhound bus times (arriving and leaving at 1am). The hostel itself is really nice and in a good location not far from the beach, would stay here again

AustraliaThe entire facility was so well appointed. I am an older traveller and I appreciated the friendliness of the staff and other guests. I was really impressed with how much was available to do without leaving the site. I particularly liked the way the pool area is designed. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering meal prep and cooking. There is ample parking. My thanks go to Sarah who handled my check-in and made me feel very welcome

Lovely hostel, really fun facilities, pool table, ping pong, comfy TV room open 24 hours and a clean lovely pool with a net for volleyball. Kitchen facilities were clean and easy to use, bedroom was absolutely perfect - clean and larger than I expected. Shared bathroom with just one other room so worked out perfectly. Would also like to thank the Duty Manager, Sarah, who found my lost rings and made my day!!!! Sarah was so friendly and lovely, such a kind soul. Thanks again Sarah!!

United KingdomBed was a bit lumpy, and walls were thin and are room was right next to the kitchen, so could get noisy at times.
Nice laid back vibe, lots of good facilities and good for catching the 1am bus (good late check-in system, and able to stay and rest in the communal areas before leaving).

CanadaStill just not used to the high cost of accommodation in Australia.
There was a great kitchen with a very big refrigerator big enough for everyone’s food & a grocery store nearby. There’s a washing machine - $3. / load. Swimming pool & common areas, ping pong. Walking distance to the Port Macquarie Coach Station where the NSW train system drops you off & takes you back to the Wauchope train stop. The train system is so wonderful & efficient. We also walked to the Koala Hospital & to Flynn’s Beach. Then we were hot & tired & Ubered back for $13.. (We’re seniors.)
