Alcohol licensing is very strict - even though there's a kitchen/common area, no outside drinks can be brought in and consumed. The bar closed at 8pm so after that time there is no option to continue drinking. There is takeaway alcohol for sale but it was not clear when this could be bought versus buying drinks from the bar - we enquired when the takeaway alcohol could be purchased and were advised this could be done once the bar was closed, however when the bar was closed and we asked to purchase takeaway alcohol I was told everything was closed (even though we were told they would let us know when to buy takeaway alcohol prior to closing). A bit disappointing and inconvenient but other than that it was a great stay!

Unfriendly staff. We drove from Sydney to Port Campbell, which is over 1200kms, we reach the 9pm, and the staff did not like that, all the gates were, and reception did not answer the phone, even though they saw me outside the main entrance. One of the guest help us to get in, and then when I spoke with the staff they were very unwelcoming. She said she has email me all the details, but I did not receive any email. I checked in front of her, but there was noon. She was like - well everything is in email, you are really late. And then she continued to do that she was doing. One of the guest told us the code to gate to go in and out and we explored the facilities by ourselves.

The bedside tables were a little dusty and there is no heater which makes it really cold at night - but understood that they’re working on improvements slowly!

Chill area, sea side is about 2mins walk away, loads of coffee shops nearby, everything is walking distance! they also have really good pizzas! stable wifi too.

dog poop in the floor in the joint kitchen!!!! Food was just pizza. we wanted to try the beers but not eat pizza so we went out. Also it seemed they were short staffed as same person poured beer, heated pizza and checked us in. it closed at 8:00. No advise given or orientation to the town which was a first in our 5 weeks of travel

So for starters, very very accommodating, nothing was too hard. They helped us so much, with bike storage, drying our clothes. The place itself was great, clean, super funky downstairs, great beers, great pizzas. Clean rooms, clean linen, clean showers. And the vinyl collection was outstanding

No lockers in the rooms (but it was nice that there were chairs for everyone in the room to put some stuff on) Right now the toilet and shower cubicles were in the hallway, which was weird but there seems to be a plan to change the layout. The shower curtains in the cubicles were nice though, so clothes etc. did not get wet.

Toilet and shower situation is odd- although super clean and plenty of them, feels like you are sitting in the coridoor :S however there were signs saying that they are aware of the odd layout and are planning on improving this in the near future. There were also a couple of 'normal' bathrooms available to use and, due to the place being quiet, I was able to use these most times.

Really lovely decor throughout the whole building and spotlessly clean. Good size rooms. Staff were really friendly too and gave good recommendations to see the birds come in at sunset. Great location- right by the beach and shops and plenty of parking. Kitchen good size and well stocked with equipment. Got a free upgrade to a private room as was told I paid over the odds at check in! Really appreciated this honesty. Did see the dorm rooms and would have been entirely happy in there though!
