How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I was in the annex across the road, which didn't have a lift. So I had to carry a heavy suitcase up and down three flights of stairs.

Unfortunately there was alot of noise from the bus stop that was below our window and passing traffic. And it was difficult to get our bags up the stairs

We were told upfront that there was no lift so no probs for us but we were on top floor. 4 sets of stairs. we didn’t mind.
We loved that we were very central to the market, eating precinct, dock. Comfortable and warm. it is very spacious like being in a large apartment. Bonus also was a washing machine and dryer in the building for free use.

That we were told to put down a $250 cash bond as they didn’t accept card, which I politely said that’s wrong and I don’t feel comfortable doing that. The place online says parking available. But what they don’t tell you that the nearest one is 2 blocks away that you have to pay for ontop of that! Bedding was very uncomfortable and cheap. Not that it’s the quest savoys fault but the city was very noisy and the church bells rang every 30 minutes all night!
Location was close to all shops and restaurants

Fantastic central location with amazing facilities and incredibly clean and tidy rooms. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for better accomodation.

A room with a window which did not overlook the stairwell. That we could not adjust the temperature in the room.
the location of this hotel is excellent. We have stayed before and enjoyed our experience. This time however, we were placed in an internal room with a window over looking the staircase, so had to keep the black out blinds closed for privacy, which also meant that there was no natural light. The tv remote did not work. Reception replaced the batteries for us, but it still did not work. The room was hot and stuffy, we could not moderate the temperature. Finally, the toilet facilities were VERY cramped.

Parking was at a significant walking distance and expensive. Each time we reentered the car park a new fee was generated so total parking for 2 days was $50.

They very kindly upgraded us to the executive studio which was very much appreciated. Staff were friendly, professional and always efficient. Will certainly return here and highly recommend.

Sound proofing was poor. Can hear the neighboring room guests coming and going. And occasional conversations. It’s up of a main street. So can hear traffics come and go.

Great value for money. The accommodation was deemed budget as there was no lift access. However the room was nice and big, clean and had all the required amenities.

Kitchen had oven but no trays or casserole bowls to use. Very limited utensils, no tongs spatulas, Good for making coffee and toast.

Really bad smell permeated the room from the fast food shop downstairs. Particularly in the bathroom. Could hear very loud church bells going off every 15 mins, even through the night. They call it ‘budget’ accommodation but I paid close to $250 a night so expected somewhere that didn’t smell and could sleep through the night. They should not be charging that much for the room, if the rest of Hobart wasn’t booked out I would have found another place to stay.
