Australiathe extra breakfast price is ludicrous, at reception we were told $33 pp but when we went it was $38, that is an astronomical price for breakfast and even more than Sydney, except for the initial reception person and the guest services team helping with luggage and lifting to the airport - most of the staff seemed miserable and not 5 star helpful
Hotel is very nice, good pool facilities and decent size rooms. Unfortunately we were put on the 1st floor - the view wasn't bad. Easy walk to the beach and other pool facilities.

IrelandThe rooms were dity, balcony filthy with dirt and bird poo couldn't even use them. Hotel is dated and run down. Overpriced. Charge $40 extra per person for breakfast on top of the hundreds of $ a night room fee then if you want a coffee at breakfast it is $6 extra per coffee. Breakfast was extremely poor quality buffet food worth no where near $40. HOTEL HAS NO LIFE GUARDS AT BEACHES OR POOLS IT IS NOT SAFE FOR SWIMMING ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN. The entire island was a price gouging experience. Awful value for money and quality everywhere we went, the IGA was the only thing of reasonable value. Island is all one company despite giving the illusion of chocie and broken into different departments to deter complaints and issues. The front desk cannot hep with room issues because that is the house keeping departments area, cannot help with bar or restaurant issues because that is the bar managers job, can't help with water sports becauses thats the beach hut managers job etc. Took two days and hours of repeatedly trying to find out if there was a manager on the island. The entire experience left a bad taste in our mouth and we would absolutely recommend people completely avoid Hamilton Island as a whole and experience the whitusundays in other ways such as boat trips from Airli beach or live aboard boat trips.
Location and the view and the only nice things to report about the property.

AustraliaWhen you pay over $500 per night it would be nice to see the tables set for breakfast instead of trying to find cutlery, salt and pepper etc. Intead it was rather like a mess hall and we can't imagine that it would be that difficult to set the tables !! If we were giving it a rating compared with previous hotels that we have paid a similar price for it would be a 3.5
Staff very friendly, view was beautiful and the hotel was clean. The Breakfast selection was good however the presentation was a little below average.

first off!!all staff at the front desk didn’t explain anything to us. apparently water equipment was part of our stay, which we didn’t know about and paid to hire snorkelling gear, and paddle boarding gear from the beach. staff weren’t very friendly to begin with. Also let’s talk about housekeeping. they don’t change your sheets for you as part of your stay. Also they do not vacuum the floors. we had used teacups and coffees. the cups were there from Wednesday till Monday and not been washed or put back. you can’t lower the AC. It’s on 22° and it’s boiling in the room because the settings on the remote can’t be changed. The Veranda and hallway area is dirty and beds are not very comfortable either. The only thing going for this hotel is the view from the balcony and the cockatoos that you can feed from the balcony. Also fun.

The rooms are outdated and have a musky smell. We had a mix up with our booking and the lady at reception was not only rude but she didn’t do what she said she was going to do to fix our reservation and on checkout they were trying to charge us and we had to explain the whole situation again. Charlie at reception was lovely and she fixed it all for us and apologised for the mix up.

Canadait is old, run down, paint is falling off everywhere, tiles are coming off, not clean at all, the upholstered chairs were filthy with loads of stains and disgusting. They don’t clean the rooms just pull up the covers and tuck back in, wash out your cups with no soap and put them back. No wipe down, no vacuum no cleaning the bird dropping off your balcony. we paid ahead for breakfast and suggest you do. it was good and had loads of selection. Generally accommodations on the island are similar and it is unfortunate that they have let them run down. if you decide to do any tours eg: Reef or Whitehaven they were amazing but bring sea sick medication as the boat gets very rough.

Australiafirst time coming to Hamilton. was for my anniversary with my partner and also proposing to my partner. tried to organise a proposal package in my room for when I got back from proposing. asked for no alcohol cause my partner doesn’t drink, but asked for something nice to be set up in the room. they didn’t set anything nice up and put a bottle of “piper” in our room. I then went and told them and they said sorry will speak to someone tomorrow and haven’t heard anything back yet. also tried organising a proposal package set up on the beach they put me on to the “wedding” place and they had the worst customer service and zero interest in trying to help me out. would appreciate someone giving me a call to discuss my stay (0422841488). overall not happy with my stay and definitely don’t think I’ll be returning anytime in the future.

CanadaYou over pay for what you get. The hotel needs a major renovation and that is not what I would've thought by looking at the pictures promoting the place. My room was old, carpet had many stains, wall paper was ripping and artwork looked like it was missing in spots. The bathroom tile had terrible stains and dirt and the grout was black everywhere. There is no ventilation or fan in the room and my luggage and all the contents were damp upon leaving. The balcony, 'with the beauty of wild birds' would have been much more magical if the tiles weren't all cracked, the outdoor furniture was old, no cushions, and the walls were stained with black something. 2 of the 4 elevators were broken our entire stay, which meant 20 floors of guests were waiting 20 minutes or more to get a ride down. Everything the hotel offers or suggests is extremely expensive and honestly ridiculous. The moral of the story is, I read reviews and gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt, but I've experienced it and believe all the negative reviews and you stay somewhere else.
I am sure Hamilton Island is beautiful, but unfortunately it rained heavily for my 3 day stay and I focused my attention on the hotel and amenities rather than the beauty around.
