How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Great communication as I arrived late that night. All done very easily. Bed was comfortable and shower was good. Great location and a quiet room with plenty of parking. Perfect for a good sleep on a long trip from Shane’s to Perth.

It is close to the main road so noisy trucks going past.
It was dinner. Well cooked and close to the room. Everything in walking distance. The room has a patio which means that I could sleep with fresh air as opposed to most motels with zero open widows and aircon.

It was situated in the wrong town.
Had a friendly cat. Motel was okay but there wasn’t much competition in town. Oddest country Australian town. No pub. Good golf club for beer and food.

Staff were not present at check in, rang the number however, no one picked up up. Rnag the number again, eventually someone picked up said they'd be down shortly had to wait another 5 mins or so before they showed at reception.

I liked everything about this little place …
Very clean, well maintained, and the restaurant is an oasis in a quaint regional Victorian town. The staff we friendly and accommodating even when we called to advise that we would be an hour late.

The outside private verandah was full of leaves, dead plants and a pot plant full of cigarette butts. Would have been lovely to be able to enjoy this aspect of the room. Also the gardens were not well kept. Lots of dead leaves everywhere. Cushions on the bed needed to be laundered. I realise it is difficult to keep things clean in inland Australia, but I hope the motel can raise the standard just a little more.
Quite a nice room. The room was clean. Bed was comfy. Microwave which we used. Only a bathroom sink for water. Kitchen items were clean. Reception was friendly and kind.

It appeared that this is a dog friendly motel as there were dogs in the rooms either side of me, including one that barked a few times during the night. Not quite sure what I think about being in a room that has also had dogs in it, but I probably would have booked elsewhere if I'd known this in advance. I booked a standard double/queen room and was allocated one with twin single beds which surprised me. Even though I was travelling alone, I prefer a larger bed and that was what I believed I was paying for. The pool was very welcome given the hot summer weather, but it's worth noting that access is not super easy if you are older or have any mobility issues. There was no handrail and the steps into the pool were narrow, steep, and due to being the same colour as the rest of the pool, depth perception when stepping up or down the steps was very difficult. The door locks were older style with a standard type of key, but there was no chain on the door for added security. There were no comfortable chairs in the room; instead there were two uncomfortable metal bar stools.
Conveniently located next to the IGA supermarket and petrol station, this small single-storey motel was easy to find and access. Parking was right outside my door. The room was compact with all I needed for a comfortable stay. Given the hot summer weather during my stay, the pool was a very welcome treat. There was a small semi-private courtyard off my room.

Some road noise from the highway.
A good standard Motel that had been freshen up recently. Really liked the small courtyard garden. In house meal was good.
