Room was very dirty , no any switch power working. Ventilator was very very dirty , no remote to adjust the temperature of ac . Car Parking was very dirty too .

The room service was terrible, the restaurant for dinner was closed due to Christmas but room service was available but could not get through and they forgot to bring spoons and our drinks when we ordered. The pool could have more lights around it at night for it to be safer for children. The used coffee cups should have been replaced every day not just rinsed out. There could have been a table and chair setting out on the balcony. The pool on level 1 and the building next to it looked abandoned and scary going to that area.

The Room was barely equipped. I was recommended the hotel by family due to their room having a kitchenette and basic appliances(Microwave etc). My room had two double beds in a single room, a Bathroom(with a dodgy door with broken handle) and a small bar fridge. We were staying for 8 days with a 2 year old and 1 year old, who eat constantly. When I asked the hotel staff about getting a toaster or microwave, they said they would, but they don't have any(Which is not what I heard from the recomendations). If the room was better equipped, with basics, such as a microwave and toaster(You can't expect families to eat every single meal, through room service)

Loved the location. Plenty of activities nearby for our two kids. Loads of Restaurants and bars close by too.

the property is dated (very dated) the TV was at least 15 years old the Aircon was not cold enough for the cairns weather and couldn’t control or change the temperature. the property is a little walk from the esplanade. the room was not the cleanest, there was dust everywhere. while by themselves these are not deal breakers but add the price into the equation and it’s a really underwhelming deal.

the view from the room & multiple swimming pools the staff, check in and check out process was quick and seamless.

The only negative that I saw was that maybe the paintwork could do with a bit of freshening up and things provided like the kettle and iron weren't brand new but that did not detract from my stay at all. Everything else more than made up for this.

I loved my time at Rydges, the staff are exceptional very friendly and extremely helpful, the food at the restaurant was faultless to me, the pool facilities were clean and big enough for a great swim with towels provided...also a great gift shop on site where you can purchase essentials like milk, bottled water and biscuits without having to go out of the facility...rooms are a great size also with a couch and a separate table to eat at so you didnt feel like you were just in a small box like some hotels can make you feel like. The facility itself, all of the hallways and reception area etc were very well maintained and clean with great views of all of the city of Cairns. Keep up the great work Rydges staff you were all a pleasure to deal with!!

The hotel has a awful smell... old... people that haven't showered stinch.... room stinks just awful. Will stay again

The room and hallways and lifts stink!!!! Our room had an awful smell to it. Pillows were stinky as well. Told the front counter, and they sent a spray. Will NEVER stay here again and will never recommend it to anyone.

Rooms need to be refreshed. Shower head sprays water everywhere making the bathroom slippery. (Even when shower curtain is used) Room service breakfast was terrible. Toast came burnt Two cereals ordered no milk came with them. Banana bread was rock hard.

Breakfast options reasonably small for $34 PP. sheets were stained and pillow cases had makeup on them so clearly had not been changed. When we advised hotel reception on departure (as we arrived at 2am for one night), there was no offer of compensation and didn’t seem to care. Just said they would tell housekeeping. Pretty gross sleeping in someone else’s sheets…

‘Garden view’ room was a massive shrub. No outdoor furniture. Bathrooms look like you could catch a disease in them. Very outdated bedrooms and bed covers. No cutlery unless you borrow from restaurant. Towels are shredded. Fridge smells like something died in it. The iron in the cupboard did more damage to clothing- shouldve just worn the clothes scrunched because they arw now stained and burnt. Pool is not suitable for non swimming kids. No spa area. Guests staying in the hotel have to pay for parking unheard of in my travelling experience.

Overpriced. $500 for a family room. Last time we stayed there were xboxes for the kids to play but they are no longer in the rooms.

very old outdated the executive room was layout like a cheap $80 a night hotel room very small with poor quality. gym was shut as well which was disappointing. Parking should be included not $15 extra …

Pool deck in need of renovation, spa and gym closed and back of hotel with tennis courts just run down and off putting. Food was ok but much better options down the street. Hotel does not accept cash
