The handle on the entrance to the shower was missing, making it difficult to open the door. The toilet seat wouldn’t stay up making it difficult for my husband to wee. The towels we were given were pretty threadbare. It was unfortunate that renovations were taking place as access in and out of the hotel was difficult. When I went out for a walk at 6.30 am I was locked out on my return. Had to bang on the door to get let in.

staff were not friendly or helpful. stayed 9 nights had to ask for room to be serviced as this wasn’t done daily due to covid. felt like a thief to ask for more toilet paper or milk. staff seemed stressed with short almost rude responses to requests. food was expensive and over priced. $35 for buffet breakfast…

we were given a room with someone in it quiet embarrassing for both and then another room with double bed not right so had to change again. this was 3 times. the room I paid for said kitchenette it wasn’t and the rooms weren’t served during the stay. for the money quite disappointed

Is very run down for the price they charge. The restaurant & room service menu is very limited and very expensive. Parking wasn't included, however, the "secure" boom gates were stuck open, so it turned out free. The overall quality was about 3.5 / 5 stars. Overpriced.

1. unserviceable TV upon arrival. 2. access keys that had to be reprogrammed 8 times in 9 day (mobiles rarely cause this problem; more likely dirty door card readers) 3. efficient but charmless front desk staff. The hotel was busy with many groups; individual travels seemed to be a nuisance.

Good location with above average bar-restaurant: a menu that contains no surprises, but delivered well prepared value for money meals, by charming staff.

the towels were rags. we had to ask for more but even those were well worn. mould all through the bathroom. shampoo etc. was a bunch of mixed items which looked like they’d been taken from other hotels. when we checked in they told us that they only serviced the rooms every couple of days. the building itself was in poor repair. some lift lights showing which floor it was on didn’t work. the pool area was run down. i’d suggest avoiding this hotel and if this is an example of Rydges, then avoid the whole hotel chain altogether.

If we came again we’d stay somewhere closer to the main street. The pillows on the bed were terrible, like laying on a biscuit. The room was also freezing, you need the aircon on because its hot in cairns but there’s no control in the room just an on off switch so you cant set the temperature. The shower in our room was constantly going hot and then cold. The lift also took 10 minutes to pick you up every-time so we just got the stairs.

The location wasn’t too bad it was about a 15 minute walk to the main street however the area was a little rough. The bed was comfy and the staff were friendly.

Accomodation is dated. fittings in bathroom are falling apart and rusted around the plug of the bathtub. No Pay T.V. or smart tv.

I really wish the manegment/owners would read reviews because if they did my review would not read like a horror story.The overall hotel needs a complete facelift it looks and feels old and it desperately needs a change of decor a new paint job.and the cleanliness is huge red flag .also the pool had no umbrellas to shade you, and the surface of the pool is very rough .The towels in the room were threadbare and needed to be replaced. There was mould in the bathroom tiles and in the bedding and was not cleaned after asking 3 times. Also there was no exhast fan in the bathroom making thr floor very slippery. Overall it's a hotel in need of some TLC So no I won't recommend this hotel it was not nice to stay in.Very disappointed.

Most of the staff were friendly especially winnie in the reasturant. Food was OK Washing machine and dryer ok
