Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe room was like a sauna when we arrived. Air conditioner leaked, set on 26°C and did not cool the room, note on the wall stated not to set below 21°C, we tried lower than 26°C and it leaked more water onto the carpet, if the property knows that this is an issue get the drain fixed, Kalgoolrie is hot. No coffee with breakfast, you had to pay if you wanted coffee, breakfast was continental only and for hot breakfast you could pay more but not on a Saturday or Sunday as there is no breakfast chef on duty. This needs to be disclosed when booking that it is continental only. This hotel is tired and is not what it used to be, it rates itself as 4.5 stars, its not, 3.5 maximum, have stayed a few times over the years and unfortunately it has got worse, Rydges need to be careful, there are new hotels coming to Kalgoorlie. Sorry but next stay might be the Plaza or somewhere else. Breakfast staff not very attentive and seemed to not really care, but we have to keep in mind that this is Kalgoorlie. The check in person was less than enthusiast and seems to be confused when asked a question. Dirty plates and glasses around the property were seen over the three days. For a Rydges property this is really not the standard it should be.
Room size was OK. Wine was OK when swapped for a white instead of a brut.

AustraliaBooked online for $520 approximately then when I arrived and paid for the rooms I was charged $ $426 twice . So I paid a total of $852. I did go and question it at resption, an said each room had $100 bond. So $520 for 2 x rooms + $200 = 720. And they have not returned my bond money or the extra they charged me. No happy with the experience.

AustraliaUpon check-in, the South Asian at reception didn't understand why I wouldn't want to be allocated room 13 (if Rydges will employ foreign staff, they may need to be briefed on Western culture). "Breakfast" was not even "Continental". We were not told beforehand there would not be hot food. Minimal options for food, all store-bought. Coffee and tea only available upon request, but even this was not informed to guests. While I ate, two lots of guests came in, saw the spread and left, disappointed. Reception checked me out early for some reason. When I went to get my key card renewed, the receptionist did it wrong, meaning I had to go back to reception a third time, where she questioned my ability to know how to use a keycard.
Seems my room was upgraded (but only after questioning the initial room allocation)

AustraliaCleaning of the room & updated furniture. We had 1 dining chair inside room & used 2 outdoor chairs as our replacement. The staff said fully booked, so no spare dining chairs. The carpet was vacuum 1day after 3 days stay. The bathroom floor was not vacuum after 4 days stay. Staff very pleasant, but also because of storm on our 2nd day, no room service, we were fortunate to have adequate food in room.

AustraliaWrong reservation. Had booked an 2bedroom apartment, cause it had a spa bath, and bedroom configuration worked for our group. I went to check in, and they put us in a completely different place (a new villa). Wrong bed configuration, no bath, had to pay more for villa, it was dirty. the room rate came with breakfast but they tried to charge us for breakfast on check out. Bottle of champagne 200- can get it at liquor store for 80. Expensive rooms that weren't clean properly. Had to ask for new bed sheets or else they just remake bed with already used sheets. Pool dirty. Food for room service always came cold. They charge you for extra bed( cool understandable, but a cot??? Come on.) and the cot wasn't clean. They have shitloads of miners accomodating the place, you would think rates would be a lot cheaper. I would give this place a miss. I stay there frequently aswell, but never again.
Breakfast was ok. Staff were great.

Australiathe rooms are dated now also a bit off-putting all the water stains on the ceiling in the bathroom, grout was a bit mouldy, bed was springy and not overly comfortable at all. couldn't have the a/c under 21 degrees as it would leak. only free to air tv, no clock or speaker in the room. was really quite average not sure how they are a 4 star rating!

AustraliaWe didn’t like being approached by dogs that were staying there, we didn’t realise dogs were allowed. The rail in our mini fridge door was broken so we couldn’t use the fridge properly. No big deal and certainly doesn’t take away from the relaxing and great holiday we had.
Beautiful grounds and rooms very relaxing environment. Excellent housekeeping always replenished our towels, milk etc.

AustraliaAlthough the photos looked good, these were taken years ago. There is no decor in the rooms anymore, bathroom shelves are bare and empty (nothing like the pictures), TV is small, free to air TV from 10 years ago, and bathroom had mould in the grout in the shower. Also no sound deadening between walls or ceiling, heard the room above us take the longest leak I’ve heard at 2 o’clock in the morning. Not to mention house keeping wheeling their carts at night outside along the brick paths. Almost like it was in the room itself. And if you wanted room service? Good luck, because they don’t offer anything, and if you do want anything you have to go to reception to pick out something from a deli style setup next to checkin. Don’t bother checking the minibar either because it’s empty. Not even a bottle of water. Bed wasn’t good either, no duvet cover on the quilt and the bed is well worn so much that you sink in to the middle of the bed.
The spa in the room is the only good thing going for it.
