MASSIVE room. I almost felt embarrassed for travelling alone. :D It was great with a huge bed, table and chairs, armchair and outdoor patio with furniture. The bathoom was also great and my shower even had a marble bench. Great for shaving legs, thank you! I asked for a quiet room and got the room second furtherst away from everything. Did not realise how far that was from reception but def worth it for peace. Worth mentioning though if you have limited mobility. Great pick ups to airport and excursions and easy to book on the spot too. Staff very helpful and helped to book packed breakfasts for early excursions. Food at the hotel was great with local/authentic dishes clearly marked. Do try the beetroot risotto!!

United KingdomNo way anywhere near a 5 star property. On arrival the door staff were not at all helpful, nor was the reception lady and the room was not ready. Funny that the staff in Desert Gardens Hotel which is only a 3 star hotel were so friendly and helpful compared to Sails staff!

AustraliaThe air conditioning unit simply didn't cool down the room. I've read about this issue at Sails on a couple of other review sites and it's something that they really need to attend to. The only way we could get the room vaguely cool, was by opening the doors to the terrace at night time (leaving the screen doors locked). This was mildly effective, but not ideal given it let the early morning light in and of course, was not incredibly safe. The website for "Ayers Rock Resort" is not good enough (several glitches). For example, you're asked to create a profile after booking, yet once I did this, there was no sign of me in the system (I booked on Booking.com) and the system just wouldn't recognise me. What on earth is the point of the customer spending the time and effort to create a 'profile'? . Apparently you're meant to add your own booking. I found this absurd and again, a complete waste of time. After setting up my profile, I was prompted to book tours on the Ayers Rock Resort website. I went to book an extended helicopter tour for the sought-after sunset flight on a particular day. This was showing as booked out on other websites and I was thrilled when it showed as available on the Ayers Rock Resort site. I booked and paid for the flights (or so I thought) - I was even sent a confirmation email by Ayers Rock Resort. But lo and behold, another website glitch. There was no valid booking. This isn't good enough for any business, let alone a major resort! Get your act together guys.

United KingdomWe have been traveling around Australia and experienced a variety of quality hotels, apartments and restaurants. Whilst we appreciate this area is further afield than most resorts we felt it was overpriced. The accommodation was not of a high standard considering the cost. The food at the resort was generally below average and again overpriced. We wouldn't have missed going to this area but the accommodation needs some upgrading to match the cost incurred.
The experience of visiting this area was great. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and professional. The pool area was nice and well kept.

SingaporeFront desk person’s response was so bad. She promised to call me when the room is ready, but no call at all. When I asked her our luggage is already in the room according to the porter, but she told me that room is not ready even though the luggage is there. She stressed with very strong tone that she will call me once the room is ready. I did not receive any call and joined the tour. After coming back from the sunset tour and I checked in without any call.

AustraliaThe pool and surrounds was a bit dated. For $780 per night, I expected something a bit more special but it was lacking in facilities. We stayed 2 nights to check out uluru and surrounds. It is full of international and domestic tour groups and very busy pretty much all day.
The service was friendly and the room was modern, clean, high quality beds and linen, and furnishing. The bathroom had the wonderful shower heads and handheld. Really lovely toiletries made from aboriginal sources. It also offered some free activities for kids like painting at various times of the day which was a nice touch!
