The place feels a bit abandoned and it is unclear how much if ever it will be refurbished. No printed welcome info, unclear if rooms are serviced. Help on the desk was appreciated.

Great location on the Esplanade and we had a spacious ground floor room with adequate small courtyard. Bathroom a bit tired but good shower. Can be a little noisy in the tiled foyer area and when early yoga class lot use the stairs. While front bar is out of action, generally quiet. Pool and terrace on roof a bonus. Good to hear waves breaking at night.

IN ONE ROOM, WE BOOKED AND PAID FOR 3 GUESTS. NOHEN WE RETIRED THE FIRST NIGHT, WE SAW THERE WAS NO BEDDING / TOWELS FOR THE 3rd PERSON (WHO WE WERE AWARE WAS TO USE A SOFA BED). THIS CAME TO OUR NOTICE ONLY AT BED-TIME - TOO LATE FOR ANY RECEPTION ASSISTANCE. HYGENICALLY, THIS WAS MOST UNSATISFACTORY. THE NEXT DAY WHEN WE CONFRONTED RECEPTION, WE WERE TOLD IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS THAT IT WAS OUR FAULT BECAUSE WE DIDN'T SPECIFICALLY ASK FOR BEDDING AT CHECK-IN . THIS IS A STANDARD MAINSTREAM ACCOMMODATION (CHARGING PLENTY) AND WE EXPECTED THAT THE "BEDROOMS" AND BEDS (ONE DOUBLE BED AND ONE SOFA) WOULD HAVE, ON OUR ARRIVAL, AUTOMATICALLY PROVIDED BEDDIMG AND TOWELS. AFTER THEDAY 2 MEETING AT RECEPTION, WE DID ASK - SO WE GOT THESE THIINGS FOR THE SECOND NIGHT. i FEEL IT UNREASONABLE THAT WE ARE STILL CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $40 PER NIGHT FOR THE 3RD GUEST, AND THERE WAS NO ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES PROVIDED BY THE HOTEL ON THE FIRST NIGHT. I BELIEVE A $40 REFUND IS REASONABLE.

Blanket was hidden away until I found it in closet,chairs and table had limited shade from rain and it got wet, making an uncomfortable wet night. Blanket should at least be on the bed, first impression cause I came back from work and don't want to go looking for everything, basics like a good thick blanket should be in sight

The shower floor seemed a little stained and it would have been nicer if it was newer - but it didn't put us off.

The accommodation was in a central location and had a great deck upstairs overlooking the beach. The room was a good size. The bathroom is a bit dated, but had everything you needed.

We arrived late, parked in the rear car park, then couldn't get in from there. We then wheeled our cases in the streets to go around to get to the lock box for our key. We would have liked to know this access issue beforehand.Visible dust all along the bedhead and the fire detector was open and not functional as far as we know. Thankyou.

Great value, especially in comparison to similar venues along the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable. We were able to park our car in the carpark which was an added bonus.

The downstairs bar/restaurant seems to be getting renovated, so that will be great when it is up & running!

The location was great! Close to everything & had an excellent rooftop area with a pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed how quiet and peaceful it was, it seemed like there weren't many children at the accommodation and was more so just other couples.

check in we were asked to provide drivers licence and card which was photocopied and cvv number from card written on the copy. on questioning this high privacy risk procedure was told it was how they did it. checking out I requested the photocopy as we had paid with booking. com and through PayPal. this is a very high risk procedure which is not used now.

I ordered two single beds on booking.com but we got a king instead. However they had upgraded us to a lovely ocean front room, and I'm not sure if this is what I had originally booked for and paid for. Because the bed so was large it was easy to share and I had a great night sleep. Overall lovely clean, fun, interesting place to stay right in the heart of Palm Cove.
