Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing to not like but the mozzies poolside were a bit friendly, however that is North Qld and they supplied repellent
loved the feel of the room on entering, lovely large and clean big room. Loved the size of the fridge with freezer. Great appliances, coffee pod machine etc. The restaurant happy hour was great and so was the food for both dinner and breakfast, didn't need to leave the place after a long day travelling which was perfect for us. Will always stay there again- a pleasant surprise all round

The restaurant and bar by the pool are closed on Sundays, don't know if that's because of the time of year or a regular thing, slightly inconvenient but not a major detractor.
the bed was comfortable, breakfast was included which was good, the recent upgrades to the room very nice and modern. The pool was nice and relaxing. A short walk to the boardwalk that lead past the army museum and to the beach was pleasant. Overall a nice stay.

Asked for a downstairs room but was given upstairs with no notice/communication regarding this

The room was a good size neat tidy and clean and the king-size bed was very comfortable. Breakfast which was included in the rate was very nice each morning beside the pool. It's a short drive down The Strand to the shops and cages although there are 2 cages across the street also. Only a couple of blocks away is The Esplanade where the Coastal walkway takes you over Kissing Point through Jezzine Barracks (North Australian Army Museum) and then down The Strand to Ross River and the Casino if you want to go that far.

Stayed 3 nights and the drink prices at bar were constantly different when ordering the same drinks every time, some staff didn’t seem to know how to charge for a rum and coke.

The TV was playing up. Reception came to help immediately however all the channel 9s did not work. We didn't report that because the reception chap acknowledged that the guy who could possibly fix the issue was off. No major issues but goes towards the 1 point short of a 10. The other reason is that I'm in my 60s with a fractured leg and my companion is 78. Absolutely zero help was offered at check-in to get our luggage upstairs to our room.
The facilities were lovely and relaxing. The pool was just right. Not cold not hot however a shade sail will need to be erected soon, before the water becomes like a tepid bath. Breakfast was included in our cost. While it is both a hot and cold buffet, the offerings were very basic and the juices were empty the entire time we were there.

The pool maintenance is a bit poor, the pool was covered in algae on the tops and sides. Some of the pathing around the pool wasn’t secure which didn’t make it very safe to walk around, especially with kids.

Mosquitos in room due to the location near beach the room needs a can of insect spray in it Or needs to be sprayed every day by cleaner who makes up room .

Something that probably can’t be fixed, the pool water was a bit warm.
