We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe property is clearly going through a constant refresh. The restaurants were amazing, and the staff could not be faulted. Whilst our stay this time was short our next stay will be longer.

AustraliaI didn't like the sandy areas (but that's mostly personal preference) and the sand travelled to other areas like the cabanas (which were super expensive). The food at the hotel isn't great and it costs $8pp 1-way to get a shuttle to town (we tried walking it once and suffered in the heat).
Wonderful resort with so many pools to choose from, we went in March-April and it was empty so we always found chairs and an umbrella to sit under. The staff were accomodating, the drinks were good, our room was massive, plus the resort is so beautiful with lots of flora and fauna.

AustraliaThe check in was extremely slow considering all of your details are already in the system, this needs to be improved. The room was rather noisy from the hall side with noise from everyone in the hall and when they entered or exited their room and the door shut. Very loudly. It came straight through the door. You had to get out of each pool to get to the next one. To get to the swim up bar we had to exit 3 pools. The bar staff in the swim up pool were friendly however very slow. The wait time for meals at the Feast was very slow. The overall cost was rather expense but worth it, however, prices for drinks and cocktails well over priced considering the cost of the room.

AustraliaBeing on level 3 with a toddler wasn’t the best but we managed with the lift once we figured out there was one at the end of our corridor.
We stayed at the Sheraton for 5 nights with our 2 year old son. He absolutely loved the pools and we loved that we could relax even with him. The staff were all very helpful, lovely and professional. The breakfast Buffett was a hit for our family. We recommended hiring a car if you wanting to check out Port Douglas as the resort is quite a distance from the Main Street.

AustraliaThe hotel is quite old and there are lots of signs showing this. Paint peeling, mould and dirt were apparent in quite a few places. Definitely a bit of mould in our room.
The hotel is in a great position and massive with many options for dining. The staff were brilliant. Friendly, helpful and caring.

AustraliaEarly morning hogging of sun lounges was a bit problematic (resorts should not allow this practice). Some resort guests that reserved them early morning by placing towels etc down, didn't come back to use them until later in the afternoon (likely after their day's activities). This needs to be stopped. Denial of access to pool towels before 10am (from poolside bar staff) was ridiculous for a resort built around several very large lagoon pools, especially at 98% occupancy. Some of those bar staff were a bit rude at times and not at all helpful. Some were even arrogant as though they were being bothered by guest requests or by providing us a service. It's their job 🤷♂️. Daily room servicing was very hit and miss. Sometimes they'd knock at 8:30am, and other days we would be contacting the front desk/housekeeping at 4pm-4:30pm asking to have our room serviced. Don't think the floors were vacuumed or mopped once during our 8 night stay. Towel replenishment was also a bit hit and miss - the later in the day our room was done the less likely we'd get a full set of fresh towels. Housekeeping staff were generally very helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast was awesome, but the space can't cater very well for guests when occupancy levels are high. Not sure how this can be fixed - long waiting lines any time after 8am kind of forced us to get up earlier than usual when in holiday, in order to avoid a 30 minute or longer wait for a table. We learnt our first morning not to sleep in until 9am.
The resort was Awesome. Very comfortable suite and public areas. Choice of restaurants and bars was terrific as well. Food was very good, fresh and tasty, from Breakfast through to Dinners. Choices by the pools was really good too. Not just the standard deep fried offerings we've experienced at other higher end places. Plenty of lagoon pool areas to swim, though being up in the tropics they were all "toasty" to swim in. Lots of facilities to use (though the typical earlier morning sun lounge hogging was rife). Most staff you very helpful. Check in and check out were a breeze. Concierge staff and check in staff were awesome. Super tasty Buffet breakfast was a terrific way to start the day.

AustraliaThe ironing boards need to be replaced. They’re extremely tricky to open without injury. Having to pay to use the poolside cabanas. Having to stand in a cue for up to half an hour to get a table for breakfast because they only open one restaurant and you can’t book. Some days we had to contact housekeeping for towels because they didn’t leave fresh ones when cleaning the room. We were told this was because they were short of towels, which is not the fault of housekeeping, but pretty inexcusable for a 5 star resort.
The tropical gardens are really beautiful and the pool is also lovely.

AustraliaHaving queen beds instead of double would make a huge difference. We paid around 700 per night which should be sufficient for 2 adults 2 kids but left a night early because the beds were too small to be comfortable with 2 ppl however we shuffled.

AustraliaWe requested a king bed instead of 2 double beds when we originally booked in November 2024. We had to request and call reception a few times to get moved into the king bed room. We arrived at hotel at 11.30am and only got moved into the king bed room around 6pm.
The king bed room, buffet breakfast, pools, restuarants and bars were all above average.

AustraliaIt seems the staffing has slipped immensely with literally no one knowing the answer to any question. It felt like there was a lack of control with no rules or any inconsiderate behaviour being dealt with. There were children everyday sitting at the pool bar and an entire family riding around on scooters. There were so many children everywhere screaming and shouting which was something we noticed this time.
We live the sprawling lagoons and the beauty of the location. It’s our third stay and we just love how spacious the rooms are and the variety of areas during the day.
