Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaSome facilities need renovation.
The pools of this resort are great, we enjoyed it a lot and had many good photos, The location is close to four mile beach, we did a cozy beach walk. Food there are nice, too. engineer Tom warned us about crocodile on four mile beach, like it.

AustraliaHad some issues with random noise on first night although staff tried to help and offered new room. Spa and sauna offering not to standard.
It lived up to its reputation as a resort and the staff were amazing! The weather was perfect considering the time of year and no issues accessing all the facilities compare to peak periods. Buffet breakfast is excellent and unlike others barista made coffee. Location may feel a little remote but was the getaway we wanted. Walk along beach to the local town is perfect way to break up the day.

Australia2 cocktails and 2 mocktails (juice for the kids) cost $64 by the pool.
The welcome drinks were a lovely touch after travelling all day. The kids also got a wrist band for happy hour ice creams every day at the swim up bar. Loved the sparkling water and filtered water on tap in the hall ways. The beach style pools were amazing for the kids to play in.

AustraliaWe booked a room which we thought was a swim up type room on the small lagoon. Unfortunately unless you are 2 ft you wont be swimming as the total depth is about 600mm. Great for kids and maybe as we booked with kids they thought this would be suitable for us. I did ask about the room and if we could be shifted as we thought misleading the room type, however as we had booked through booking.com they couldn't do anything for us and the manager told us to contact booking.com. We tried this to see what could be done, booking.com were good and tried to contact the hotel via phone and email but got no response. After a few hours of no updates - we just gave up and asked booking.com to cancel the request as didn't want to waste time and ruin our holiday by getting frustrated with the room type. Our own fault for probably not checking what small lagoon meant fully, we tried but there isn't a full summary of the different pool types anywhere to be found and didn't expect really what a over sized fish pond to be called a lagoon. Be aware if you book through booking.com this hotel will not offer anything if you need to change.
Overall the property is ok. It is now 35 years old so wear and tear is visible. The grounds are well maintained, large place with many options to swim and plenty of outdoor seats/loungers. Staff were helpful and did what the could when issues arose or we needed assistance relating to ice, bath towels etc. Also - cold water dispensers are a great guest service which are located in each building.

AustraliaNot many complaints - it is a great place. The rooms are not super dark in the morning, and the rooms could use a little refresh but nothing major!
We love it here - the amazing pools, most comfortable beds and great poolside cocktails. We also dined at Harrison’s which is always fantastic. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Port Douglas. Very easy check in and good service by the staff.

AustraliaVery little wet weather-friendly amenity. A hot pool, hot spa, sauna or steam room would have made a huge difference in the pouring rain. Pool cabanas were over priced at $150-$170 per day and barely used. In quiet months like April, they should be free or $50, especially on wet days when guests need somewhere to sit out of the rain. Location-wise, it’s worth noting you need to use the shuttle or Uber to go in and out of town and this gets annoying and expensive.
The room was comfortable and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Pool menu had good vegetarian options. Service was very good.
