It’s an old country hotel and I was just looking for that kind of lodging. The room was simple, but clean. The same for the facilities. The pub in the hotel offers good meals and the atmosphere of the village life.

We didn't have any issues staying at the Royal Hotel. Our only minor inconvenience was that breakfast was included, but there was no bread for toast. I'm sure I could have asked for some, but there was plenty of cereal to make up for it

This is a lovely quaint old pub that was full of locals for dinner and entertainment. Although it was very busy, the staff were very helpful and showed us our room, and explained the checkout process straight away. The room was a comfortable old room with a tv and fan. The bathroom facilities were shared, but we were the only ones staying, so that was easy for us. It isn't The Ritz, but for an enjoyable dinner, a comfortable bed, and a lovely old pub experience, I can thoroughly recommend it.

- walls are thin, luckily my neighbor was quite - one ‘kitchen’ (microwave and fridge). - breakfast included: get your own toast and cereal. Nothing laid out or so. Just toast and cereal. - only sitting space (except for the bar) is outside. We wanted to sit inside because we were cold, but there was nowhere to sit.

- double bed rooms, very nice with a Telly and mirror - bathroom with shower/ bath! Very comfy - nice personnel

Friendly service, pizza night was a hit, rustic nature and provision of covered parking for our motorbikes.

Room advertising, separate rooms within one house. Shared bathroom and kitchen. As we were the only guests there we didn’t mind this.

Quaint old hotel, heritage appearance. Friendly service. Under cover parking available. Would be great for a large group as it’s a renovated house. Adjourned onto the hotel for meals and drinks.

Fantastic country pub with great staff, friendly locals and atmosphere. Meals are fanastic and a far better place to stay than a normal motel. Will stay again when down in Vic

No soundproofing between walls meant the extreme snorer in the adjacent room was not conducive to sleeping at all…

The road to Snake Valley was closed so had to find alternate route - obviously nothing to do with hotel

Location good - good basic overnight stop on way to Geelong to catch ferry to Tasmania

mice in the walls moving around at night. but the room was clean not a dropping to be seen and it’s was in the country on a cold night. so mice would be hard to avoid. also the after hours access would have been impossible to navigate had I not walked it in the daylight before heading out.

my room was clean however the heater was partially melted and when I requested a replacement the lady was obviously annoyed. she did swap it but simply put the dangerous one in another room.

Just be aware it is a shared bathroom and toilet.

We really like this place. It is at the back of the hotel but after the hotel is closed it is really quiet. The staff was lovely, we had dinner at the hotel and they had a few vegetarian choices, mostly pizzas. Also the sky is beautiful to watch from snake valley.
