Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very noisy with people watching sports and yelling/cheering at 2 or 3am in the morning both nights while I was staying there. I couldn't sleep even with ear plugs in...

This hostel belongs to the winner hostels in Fremantle, Tumbs up for the staff they are really nice and helpful, Ricardo even love to party with the hostel guest, in the little city of Freo. It's really good and can sleep good when you had a big night out👌 It's also very tidy.

Best hostel I’ve been in Australia so far. They have many facilities such as pool table, bar, swimming pool, 2 terraces, and a lot of different spots if you want to chill, read or rather meet new people. Everything is amazing, the staff is very friendly as well. It’s definitely one of the best place to make your experience in Australia unforgettable.

I had a warm welcoming at the Sundancer backpacker, the staff is very nice and helpful. Made me feel at home. They offer daily cleaning of rooms and utilities. It is a very clean hostel, especially considering the number of people living in there. Great atmosphere, a lot of entertainment with lovely people and positive vibes. Thanks a lot, Sundancer. I will be back as soon as possible. 10 points!

The hostel was very cold and dirty, especially the bathrooms. The facilities in the kitchen were quite poor and small for so many people. One day I had to wait over an hour for one of the four pans to become free and then another 40 minutes for a hob to become available. The hostel seems to be very money focused. They don't accept card so you need to draw out money and pay the fees on the machine each time. I was really cold and asked for an extra little blanket and it's an extra 25 dollars deposit. Never had this in any hostel before.
Great location! Large rooms and beds relatively comfy for bunks :)

I love staying here everytime I come to Fremantle. Amazing family of staff, lots of space, huge kitchen and very clean! My room was quiet and felt very safe. It's definitely one of a kind and I recommend everyone to come check it out. There is something so special about the Sundancer.

Really well run hostel with a friendly atmosphere. Plenty of areas to socialise but also quiet at night. The hostel is kept clean and has good facilities. Best hostel in Perth by a mile.

The atmosphere is wonderful, well equipped kitchen / rooms with everything you’d need, lots of lounge space, a large backyard space, has a pool/ping pong/pool table/video games/different lounge rooms and tvs, the staff are always kind and helpful, friendly guests, relaxed spot, nearby to shops/beaches/restaurants. feels like home- definitely recommend

Didn't feel safe. Very poor facilities eg not enough outlets in room for every person to plug in a charger. Toilets extremely unclean.Very loud all night and morning

Definitely one of the best hostel on my 3years in Australia. Sundancer is a place where you will feel at home!! Few tvs area where you can chill, ping ping table and baby foot to have a good time. It's a great place to create contact and make friends but you can always find a little quiet place if you need to be alone. There is few gym equipments as well, I found great to practice Yoga in this area! The staff is welcoming and really make you feel part of the family. In a word : if you go to Freo, Sundancer is a must!

the property is nice, authentic, many accommodations, great decoration, mood, cleanliness. you will feel there at home, everyone can find something at Sundancer. the staff is great: Elena, Riccardo, special mention for Oliver… an outstanding hardworker going up and down the stairs every second to satisfy all the tenant. Natasha.. brighter eyez as the sunset in bathers beach, available and listening for inquiries and advice 5 stars - best best place in Australia

This was an amazing place to stay. The staff are super cool and helpful. The energy amongst backpackers is great. They’re are spots to be social and spots to have alone time. Very spacious. They’ve got a free pool table, ping pong table and even darts. There are guitars lying around and even a piano. The bedrooms got high ceiling and I live for that. It’s welcoming to practice what you want. A personal bar for hostel goers. The kitchen has everything you need. Honestly the best hostel in Australia for me. Can’t wait to get back here after Broome. Many TVs and video console. Always something to do. Thank you guys! Keep it up!

It was very loud, even for a hostel. The building was old and you could hear everything. They where partying until late and it was impossible to sleep at times. Bathroom and toilets not very clean
