Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNothing negative to say about this charming property.
We were privileged to share this special untouched slice of paradise with our lovely host Kirsten. Simplicity being the key ingredient to this wonderous journey through time. With wildlife abounding, you are transported to another era where mind and body slow down ready to encompass the joy of a morning sunrise over the lake together with the sounds of birds and native animals living in harmony with the residents of the Island. The delightfully quaint accommodation, including all the necessities of a fully functional kitchen together with bathroom requirements, provided everything you would need for a short stay. Sourdough bread, homemade crackers, homemade granola, herbals teas, milk and butter gave you a great start to your day, ready to explore the spacious property and beyond.

AustraliaNothing. Would love to return
Location embedded in nature, peace and quiet, cleanliness, breakfast basket on first day and hosts perfect balance of being available without being intrusive. Also, that the hosts have not bowed to pressure to update decor (I assume in keeping with sustainability/valuing nature ethos), while providing a very comfortable stay. Loved the wildlife, kayaks and cycling to and from Paynesville for groceries/meals out.

AustraliaThe fact that I’m thinking of a return stay and the noisy resident koala 🐨 who woke me up with its grunting sounds and the mozzies. But hey, everything else makes up for it.
Swan Cove is on Raymond Island and I bet many people don’t even have an idea where this is. It is a very short drive from the jetty after hopping on the ferry from Paynesville. There is just something magical about the property. We love the German-built cottage and how its just steps from the lake and surrounded by beautiful nature. The garden cottage is small and cosy and not having a smart TV is great as it gave us the opportunity to bond as a family with convos, snacks and card games. My boys enjoyed cycling around the property and we spent a morning kayaking. Highly recommend at least two to three nights stay to just relax, do nothing and enjoy sounds of nature. We also had the pleasure to meet Kirsten who is so full of life and energy and the love she has for the work she does. What an inspiration!

SwitzerlandVery pieceful and charming surrounded by a big garden where we have been also lucky to spot some animals (kangoroos)! The host very super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with homemade products ( especially the bread was one of the best ones we have eaten during our entire trip through Australia). We spent there only 1 night but it would have been a perfect place to relax for a couple of days.

Australia<The very compact well fitted out bathroom would probably prove tricky for a very large person to navigate>
Splendid welcoming helpful hosts. All home baked bread + granola and jams and fresh on site eggs were beautiful. Peaceful bushland with lawns running straight onto the sandy foreshore of the Gippsland Lakes. Canoes and bikes to use as req'd. No neighbours to be seen. Hard to leave with tame birds and such peaceful quiet bushland setting for endless walks. The interior was very homey and practical.
