Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBooked 3 nights in Heritage Room, favourite beach spot to release some ashes. Room looked lovely on website; top floor verandah, doors to open for views and ocean breeze. Nearly $900. Sounds good, right. Lots of 'faults' you don't expect at that price, at that place. No landline phone in Room - no room service, what about emergencies? No AC; there was a ceiling fan, at top speed was low at best. Horrendous quality tea bags, tasted like dishwater. Asked Reception what the Velux square thing was next to room door. No clue, even when they looked at it; said it was to do with the ceiling fan. I googled and it's something to do with the skylight. Verandah lights left on all night, shine through doors. The don't clean room daily, only change towels if left on floor; includes not emptying bins or replacing used toilet rolls. Shower had clumps of mould left in drain. TV was very small, on side-table not wall mounted, no instructions on remote use for apps etc. Meant you couldn't lay in bed comfortably and watch. Chairs on veranda are wooden collapsible type, dangerous and hard to get out of. Bedhead not flat, has shelf, when pillows against it, very uncomfortable. No self/vanity space for toiletries in bathroom. Fan in bathroom covered in black fluffy dust, doesn't extract properly, very steamy in there. Hot water, lukewarm. Shower pressure minimal. Ate in restaurant, poor quality, very expensive. Had to book 2 days in advance for table, if lucky. Bar had minimal offerings; no cocktails! Renovations look good, and new owner is marketing as a boutique place with micro brewery, but the food, amenities, rooms and service are sub par for the pricing. No wonder locals don't frequent it anymore. Also, tried to alter dates, even asked about cancelling. The confirmation email I received after paying had stated fully refundable if 2 or more weeks prior to booking dates. But that's not the case. If you cancel you lose all your payment.
Location on bluff is amazing!!

AustraliaEntrance to our room felt like a dodgy concrete mall carpark - very rough. Room did not have any waterview from inside - huge missed opportunity design wise as the location is spectacular. Ceiling very low - when fans were on it didn't feel safe for my 6ft son. Would be nice to also have transparent curtains as well as block out curtains, as it's nice to have privacy during the day (but not completely block out sunlight).
The location is gorgeous. Sadly the car park and utility room has better ocean views than the guest rooms. Weird, no? Such a missed opportunity as could have been amazing. Woman (Joeslyn) very friendly and helpful. Pub restaurant very nice.

Chile- The retaurant, particularly the service system. It is presented as a fine dining experience, with beautiful surroundings but service is pub-style, you have to order and pay for everything separately. We prefer to have wait staff take our orders, including wine selection, and provide the service appropriately. We did not expect, and did not like, in this surrounding, to have to serve ourselves. Also, for foreign travellers, to use a credit card incurs a fee each time it is used. To have to pay for meal, drinks, possibly a scond drink or dessert, incurs extra exchange costs that are not warranted. - the checkout time was limited to 10:30 AM. We wanted noon or a bit later, staff would not permit it.
rooms are newly remodelled, clean and well designed, Fantastic ocean view and sometimes humpback whales are seen. Breakfast not available for inclusion with room

AustraliaThe bathroom, although beautifully fitted out, had some mould around the floor edge in the shower. We have now stayed in several different places along the south coast of NSW and wondered if mould we be a continuing problem, not noticed in any other accommodation we have stayed in. There was dust on the ceiling fan and on the ceiling near a vent. The bottle for soap in the shower was empty. We had drinks and dinner in the bar, which is gorgeous and has the same amazing outlook, the bar staff we encountered were a bit meh, the salt and pepper squid was tasteless, looks like it was not hand made. My husbands fish and chips were generous, although the batter was overwhelming and the fish was tasteless. We chose the seafood because of the edge of the ocean location, thinking they would have the best freshest available. The people we dined with had non seafood items and were all very satisfied with their meals. To come across more than one or two minor things leaves me feeling a little disappointed with Tathra Hotel. We will come back as the location and ambience are wonderful.
Location is great, fabulous outlook to the ocean for sunrise. Excellent parking available on site. Modern and stylish rooms.

AustraliaDinner was not good. Long queue for ordering dinner and as all tables in the restaurant were reserved, there were no tables available to eat the meal anyway. With no microwave in my room and difficulties getting dinner in the restuarant, went to bed hungry
The room was very small and had one bed when I had asked for two beds. There was no air conditioning and no mircrowave when it had been included in the run down of facilities with booking.com. Very basic room in the motel. The room that I had been promised was in the hotel, had two beds and was bigger.

AustraliaVery dirty. Rented 2 rooms, in both rooms no warm water for shower, none of the electricity plugs worked (so couldn’t charge phones, could use kettle, hairdryer, tv or the fridge) The bbq and pool is totally covered in animal poo. The rooms stinks very badly. Called and messaged to receptionist several times, they called us back at 9pm saying that the manager will get in touch with us next day (they never got in touch with us) Horrible experience, never go there.
