I think in the middle of summer, given the cost of the apartment for one weeks' rental, that I would ordinarily expect air conditioning in at least some of the rooms and bedrooms. Most days were ok but a couple were very steamy. Some of the outdoor facilities eg the bbq area and pool area are also looking a little tired. Body Corp turned water off a few days running during the day without any warning. The industrial recycle bin is located next to the car parking area for u18 - it should be relocated as it was very ripe. I think that most people will bring own food as there aren't a huge range of options for dining out - but the refrigerator isn't very big. Unit probably needs a separate drinks fridge or a larger refrigerator.

Location was wonderful. Lovely easterly aspect. Straddie is a wonderful place so close to a capital city. Beautiful surrounds and natural beauty. We spotted lots of native wildlife - birds (curlews, kookaburras, eagles, osprey, kites), wallabies, kangaroos, goanna. Easy access to 4WD beaches.

No coffee or tea was a surprise, especially for a luxury Penthouse . Shampoo & conditioner in each bathroom would have been nice too as well as beach towels. Pillows too high.

No air conditioning! It’s standard necessity in a property in Queensland, so that made no sense at all. The price for a night is in the range that it should be “against the law” not to have it, so it wouldn’t even cross my mind to check if a property has it. The pool area should be cleaned daily. It was almost acceptable, but dead bugs around and in the pool every day weren’t just a mistake or a one-off event. There were also no cleaning tools available for me to sort it out myself so my kids could swim in the pool too (though we still did a couple of times). It’s strange that these two such a small and cheap things would be overlooked by whoever runs this property. Note: The Cove is (it seems) just a cooler name for Samarinda Jewel by the Sea resort (or just the apartment within it so everything re. the pool area feedback applies to Samarinda too). The feedback was provided to the operators/owners too, and I hope they improve it, since it would be a golden spot, apartment, everything about it with just these two simple things.

Apartment was clean and nice. It is near everything that matters especially Main Beach and beautiful North Gorge walk. Fans in each room is always good, kitchen, furniture and choices of it were nice, balcony nearly perfect.

The Apartment was quite small, photos on booking.com makes it look alot better. The couches in lounge room was not in a great state and what we paid this apartment is not worth it. There is no aircon anywhere in the Apartment, just ceiling fans which had to run on the highest setting to feel anything and ut was quite noisy.

We had a great view of the ocean and the kitchen was huge....

It wasn’t very clean. My daughter suffers dust allergies and was having to take antihistamine each day. When a property stays empty for a while it really needs a clean on the arrival day
