It is exactly a cage where you enter directly into the circus of racism. The gentlemen travelers from France are in charge of giving the orders and making dances for them... the reception takes money from your card without prior notice...or claiming not to be a good traveler... horrible stay. only three bathrooms for more than 59 people (men in my case)

Chocking unprofessional staff. After 6 years travelling i’ve seen some funny stuff in some hostels but nothing at this level in terms of feeling welcome. It’s sad because the place has a real potential. Not even allowed to leave something very valuable at the reception after begging them. Same the next morning. They told me to leave this bag in the middle of the common area near a plant as i’ve been told because they were open and they was a camera straight on it so nothing could happen. When I came back an hour later the reception was closed, no cameras, and nobody looking after it. I’ve also never been explain where were the common areas or just the toilets. When I finally could check in, it was no bed sheet and nothing. Too busy to smoke joins on the back area talking about their last party instead of setting up a bed. But their first words without any good morning the next day was “did you put your bed sheets where they have to be otherwise i don’t refund you the deposit (which i think I’ve never got it back but i didn’t check) So very nice place but chocking staff. And forget about the deposit you give it to them and don’t expect any friendly vibes until you smoke joins with the staff. That’s it

Excellent atmosphere. Finally a hostel in australia that feels like home. Lots of long term guests so it really feels like a big shared house. Cleaned everyday. Beds are comfy and people are usually respectful of others sleeping, even in the 28 beds dorm! Big kitchen and lots of shared spices and ingredients. Lots of chilling areas that go from quiet if you need to work on your laptop or rest, to more social if you want to easily make friends.

Great atmosphere and social vibe. Everyone is friendly and make you feel at home. Lots of places to chill and hang out or work on your laptop. Kitchen is big and clean and there’s everything you need to cook. Great location near CBD.

If you don’t book the good room it can be really crap. Kitchen is not easy for cooking.

Mattresses were really bad and the kitchen and bathrooms were disgusting. Cleaning was only once a week and this is way too little.

The rooms are cramped, and fairly unclean. I swapped rooms halfway through and in my first room there were old socks/used bottles/random bits of paper under the bed that hadn’t been cleaned out properly from previous people. Other hostels that I have stayed all over Australia have staff that clean the rooms once a day but the 4 nights I was in room number 1, I never saw a cleaner once. In my second room there was a cleaner just the once in the 3 nights I was in there. Wouldn’t recommend to go there as a place to meet people, it’s a working hostel but does not state that it is. It would be okay for 1-2 nights while stopping over in Perth but no longer than that. Things seemed to get better when the manager turned up and the people that worked there were actually cleaning the hostel, but before that you wouldn’t know who the staff actually were.

Good location, close to the train station and bus port to move around Perth freely and cheaply. They had a free shelf to take things from which was handy if you needed additional bits of food to make a full meal in the kitchen.
