How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Fantastic location, food excellent as always, views superb. Hotel room described as ‘ocean views’, which was technically accurate, if you squeezed your cheek on the window and ignored the wholly more prominent ‘roundabout and main road views’! Bed pretty old and squidgy. Steep stairs with rickety bannister. Lady at reception was pleasant.

Obvious build up of dust around edge of room. A quick vac with a crevice tool once every few months wouldn't go astray. Outside table was broken. Screen door did not close properly.

The bathroom was tiny and we couldn’t open the window. That meant we had to have the air conditioner on all night. A sea breeze would have been preferable.
Staff were excellent. Great location. The big (shared) balcony was great although we didn’t get to use it.

Room is small. Vent in bathroom needed cleaning , as did window screens. Some cutlery was dirty. I felt it was overpriced.
Hotel is in a central location with 180 degree water view from balcony. Big shower with strong water pressure. Bistro in pub with good selection, welcome drink.

It’s tired. Comfortable enough but like going back 30 years , everything’s seen better days

Our room had an odd layout. When in bed you're looking straight down the hall towards the entry door. The shower door had a big gap at the bottom so it let a lot of water out. During our stay we saw people on the roof outside of our window, likely doing maintenance of some sort, but they still would've been able to see right into the room.
The room was sufficient for what we needed for a 1 night stay. It was quiet and accommodating. Great location being above a pub; plenty of restaurants, cafes and small retail within a short walk; quick access to water activities and great beaches.

Location is excellent. Wonderful walking trail next to the property. Restaurants are near by and the hotel has a restaurants/bar on property. Service was excellent.

Quite expensive for what you get.
The hotel is not so big so that’s a plus. However the rooms are just okay, without anything special. The hotel is also a restaurant and a bar so it can be quite crowded and noisy in the first floor. Fortunately this noise wasn’t a problem at night in the room. The receptionist was also quite friendly.

The only issue is that there is no lift to where the hotel rooms are located which if you have a large case, could prove difficult. This didn't concern us but may be an issue for some guests.
Room was comfortable & provided everything that was needed. The hotel provides off-street parking & is located close to town & all amenities. The room we had was very quiet & the noise from hotel patrons did not concern us.

Noisy. Didn’t really think through the fact that pub goers would be hanging around outside til as late as 1pm waiting for the courtesy bus to do its rounds.
Great location and reasonably good room facilities. Could be made awesome with a bit more thought, especially the shared balcony.

Bit dated. Sea view room is a bit of a stretch as one window you cannot see as it’s blocked by a wardrobe and the other had obscured glass.
The welcome drinks, the location, the bed was comfy!
