How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I thought it strange that the room didn't have an external phone, we didnt need one but it was an odd details that I noticed. There were a couple of lights that didn't work and needed a bulb change in the bathroom and the main room and we weren't to sure about how the lights worked at first but we got there in the end.
Upon arrival, the manager Kylee was so inviting and friendly, it felt like I wasn't checking into a hotel but coming home. She was very friendly, kind and accommodating. The view was amazing, overlooking to Lake and the room was a corner suite and very spacious. The beds were comfortable and the room very clean.

There nothing l did not like -
Location is superb 2 minute off st kilda rd from tram stop - so easy to go to city or st kilda South Yarra with in minutes -i stayed in Studio with a sea view -Stunning - great amount of space clean modern and bed was so comfortable with room made up and cleaned each day

We have stayed a few times now so we have decided which view from the hotel we like the best and it is the Arthur Street frontage.
No breakfast served at The Kinson. I had breakfast at the NGV before heading to the Alexander McQueen exhibition and it was fine. My partner headed off to have breakfast with friends in the suburbs.

It was the perfect location to attend the Australian F1 Grand Prix. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was spotlessly clean, and the beds were very comfortable.

A bar or cafe on site
The hotel is really comfortable and It feels more intimate because it isn't huge. The rooms were great and the beds super comfortable. I had a room with a view over the lake behind which was worth the little extra. The location is quiet but you can be in the middle of town on the tram in less than 10mins. There are nice parks, and the river is very close by. The staff were all really lovely and friendly and I would 100% stay there again. There is no cafe or bar but you can get breakfast outside , there are easily 4 places 2- 3 mins from the hotel and in the evening the cities great restaurants are 10 -15 mins by cab or tram.

Very miner, I just didn't like that on the Doona under sheet covers. There were very noticeable stains.
It was quiet, the room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Location is on outskirts of cbd so not much around to eat or do if you arrive late at night.

Wish the restaurant had been open but apparently it will be in a few months time. In Queens Lane, to the right as you leave hotel is a great little coffee shop that does breakfast, lunch and drinks! Mr. Percival cafe and restaurant check it out! Location perfect for Albert Park Lake and trams into city.
Spacious room (Studio with seaview). Comfortable and clean. Good kitchenette, with kettle, microwave and toaster. Ask at reception if you require saucepans etc. no charge. Bathroom small with no bench space but not an issue as I used the desk in the room for my personal toiletries. Staff extremely friendly. Have found my go to accommodation when visiting Melbourne, and I've tried quite a few! I will definitely book this hotel again. Had an issue with the shower head dropping (couldn't tighten) notified reception and it was fixed immediately. Street parking bays outside easy if being picked up. I recommend you try this hotel, you won't be disappointed. I'm fussy when it comes to cleanliness and nothing to complain about here! Thanks Kylie for making my stay so pleasant.
