How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A comment - I am able bodied and found reaching the tap over the ‘kitchen’ sink was high and not easily reached as well the cups/glasses were placed in the highest cupboards - I needed to stand on tip toes to reach & other crockery would have required standing on a chair - for someone with mobility issues this would be very difficult.
We booked the accessible room as it seems to be the only option for 2 single beds as I was sharing with my sibling (this may or may not be so). The room had 2 small balconies and was spacious and nicely appointed. The location was fabulous close to park and a reasonable walk to the city and good coffee/morning options nearby. As well the restaurant on the ground floor was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful - overall a terrific stay.

Toilet is not very clean. The staff at the reception was not patient and cut the conversation couple of times.
Facilities are good and the location was excellent. Close to everywhere and easy to park.

The lighting could have been better in the room Be prepared to organise your own transport and no maps are available You do need to get public transport to see the best parts of Melbourne. This site is just slightly remote for easy walking

Unable to turn on the stove, pots and pans not available in the room. Air conditioning ineffective, so room temperature uncomfortable on 39 degree day.
We loved the generously large room with seperate living space and the balcony with its stunning view and fresh air. The large, comfortable bed, hospitable & discreet staff, cleanliness, hotel decor, and proximity to everything with the tram right out front, were all appreciated.

As we were here for the second time, we now knew how the stove works.
It was so nice to come back to this hotel where we already spent our first days in Australia. The staff kindly gave us another room in an upper floor with a better view towards park and also kept our butter and water bottle while we were away traveling in other parts of Australia. This room was nice, layout was different than in our first room and it gave a bit more privacy for our teenager. All our wishes were fulfilled. Thank you!

There were no instructions for the kitchen, I had trouble to get the stove working until the staff showed me where you have to switch on the electricity. You also have to request pots and pan from the reception. Our balcony view was towards the wall of the other building.
Spacious room with balcony and small kitchenette and basic amenities. Also a small dishwasher. Walking distance from the city, you can also take a tram. A small grocery store is across the street but they don't have all prices well shown and best before date of some products had already passed so I recommend to go to IGA a bit further away for better selection. Very friendly staff. Wifi works well.

Cleaning could have been better. Communication between reception and housekeeping could be better.
Expensive but good rooms, helpful staff. Could be cleaner. They could pay more attention to detail e.g. surfaces and cleaning mirrors and restocking items which was a hit or a miss at times. Also reception needs to do a better job at communicating with housekeeping. Nevertheless, I had a pleasant stay and will stay there again.
