An ensuite would have suited us a little better than shared bathrooms but they were booked out. We had a young woman in the room next to us with a loud phone voice and terrible cough - the soundproofing could be better!

The rooms were comfortably furnished and clean. The nights were cold and the air-con worked well in each room. We had a chance to meet other guests in the small dining room during breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is 'help yourself' continental which is all we required.

Would love to see some written history about the convent and its journey from it’s beginning to now. Some wall plaques in the dining room or accommodation corridor could perhaps be suitable for above information.

This place was a pleasant surprise. We were just looking for a one night midway location to break up our trip but found the Old Convent a location we would happily stay for longer. The history was interesting, staff were friendly, our cabin was basic but comfortable and the evening meal was excellent value. The town of Dalwallinu is quite lively and not suffering economically as a lot of country towns are.

The corridor inbetween the main rooms in the main house has a very noisy floor. A runner carpet would help. The early shift staff's footsteps up and down the corridor woke us up. Too many fake flowers and flamingos and other animals spoil the authentic look of the old convent and make it look a bit tacky.

Charming, old convent beautifully maintained. Our double deluxe room was located in the main house, with a private shower/loo, wifi and TV. Very clean and comfortable.

The rooms are not large, but definitely satisfactory for our one night stay. We didn’t register early enough for the cooked evening meal, but easily found dining options in the town.

Great customer service. Interesting history to property. Room 101 was great for a family. Bathroom facilities very clean but shared. Did not see any others using this. If your mobility is poor request a room downstairs as stairs super steep. Would definitely stay again.

Our room with ensuite bathroom was quite cramped with no chairs and a tiny bathroom and basin besides noise from the adjoining room's shower. We might have done better to stay in a room with access to an outside bathroom along the corridor.

The Convent has a certain charm with its historical background and function room. Our room was clean and bed very comfortable.

Breakfast was not up to expectation. No yoghurt available as stated on website pressure to get up early to ensure that bread was still available. No butter availed for toast one day. No fresh fruit which would have been normal!

Our host was a very warm, friendly lady, called Mandy. She made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The location was very peaceful and quiet.

The time of year we visited it was cold and made it a little uncomfortable but nevertheless a great place to visit.

Small room but we didn’t mind this. Breakfast options were a little limited, only one tiny yoghurt pot in the fridge and only cow’s milk available. Considering the included breakfast is basically cereal, would be great to include a non-dairy option too.
