The Shamrock is in the middle of the historic town of Bendigo. Walk to all the interesting places including the tourist tram. parking free. It is an important old gold rush hotel, but comfortable. It has a bar and restaurant.

Dinner and breakfast at the hotel was disappointing. No atmosphere. Felt awkward ordering and there was a full on shouting match between server and the kitchen

The locals can get a bit noisy on Friday and Saturday night (not the hotel's fault of course!)

When paid for the room. Was charged $6.48 for use of 'Credit Card' but used my "Debit Card'. It annoyed me.

The shower was very poor, low pressure and very hard to regulate the temperature.

The service for dinner, drinks and breakfast were terrific. My steak was overcooked as I asked for blue but got medium rare.

The Shamrock provides a taste of gracious living in 19th century style but with some modern touches like a lift to the upper floors and a TV in your room. It's located right in the centre of town on Pall Mall. One of the places we visited was the Bendigo Regional Art Gallery which is a400m walk away though lovely parkland. We also liked the restaurant where we dined in the evening. It also represented value for money. The staff were very helpful. We wanted to watch the AFL game and couldn't get the channel on the TV in our room but the staff got another TV for us. How good is that!

Very tired decor. Old fashioned single key entry. access to garage is unpleasant and inconvenient. Breakfast food was average - next time we will eat elsewhere.

The walk from the carport was bad,it's down alot of stairs and hard to take luggage..milk in the bar fridge,there was none..lucky I brought long life milk.mozzies in the room were pretty bad so mayb mozzie zappers.

We liked the heritage and the history of the place,and was even excited to find out the top floor is haunted 👻 nothing freaked us out though and will look into doing a tour upstairs!!the downstairs dining was very good,breakfast was amazing and dinner was gr8.the staff are so friendly and helpful..excellent location in a beautiful town..will definitely come back

Room was not serviced throughout our stay . Had to ask for basics (eg milk and tissues ). Very disappointing to come back at the end of the day to a room that hadn’t been touched . Had to ask for clean towels etc.
