Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No laundry on site which would be handy following bush walking!
Excellent location within a few hundred metres of Echo Point & the 3 Sisters. Quiet, clean room with good facilities and off street parking. Good value for money. Easy check in.

We had a room with a spa bath which was old but worked ok. Room was dark & dingy being at the back of the property. On our last morning there was a power outage (not the motels fault) but we couldn't shower as the hot water must be through an electric calafont & it was so dark in our room, even with the curtains open, that it was a challenge packing. The room was clean but it is an older property so flooring is tired. Only ventilation in the bathroom is a small open window so the bathroom gets pretty wet with condensation.
Great location, short walk to 3 Sisters Lookout & walks. Bus stop just up the road & easy access to Scenic World, Katoomba Falls, etc. We had a hire car & getting around was easy. Room was warm & comfortable. Has a small fridge, jug for tea/coffee, iron & board, & hairdryer (small but ok). We made our own breakfast so needed our own bowls & utensils. If you are happy with an older facility in a good location then this is an ok motel to stay in. We didn't meet any staff on arrival, or throughout the stay, just received a message with our room number. Appears to be remotely run.

The Three Explorers Motel is a tidy, clean, yet basic accommodation option. My experience was smooth. My brief interactions with the staff were friendly. The location is very convenient. The car park was full by the time I got back to the accommodation each evening, but there was plenty of on street parking. I would stay there again.

Having to climb up the stairs I would have preferred a first floor.
The location is a short walk to the 3 sisters lookout and a 15 min walk into the Katoombah shops. I had no face to face interaction with staff, however they were helpful and the check in process convenient.

Very small maintenance issues due to age, but I found the older style room as comfortable and more convenient than many newer places

The room was comfortable, clean and decent sized. The location was good, not far from the main part of Katoomba and a walking distance to the RSL club (where we had dinner)

Cheap motel that provides exactly what was needed. A comfy bed, good TV, warmth at night with a nice new air con. Clean and excellent location. Would recommend to anyone.
