Everything was great

Had had lunch so didnt need big meal, had a pizza later sitting in front of fire and watched olympics on tv. Staff very friendly expecially young lady behind bar, she also looked after us at breakfast

Fan in the bathroom was very loud, you couldn't turn the light on independently of the fan, very annoying through the night.

We had a beautiful meal in the restaurant there & the entertainment was really good too! Father & Daughter musicians. The front reception lady was really nice & allowed us to check in earlier which was really handy!

It's new management who are working on the details. So there were a few minor features of the rooms that weren't great. These should be fixed soon, though, so probably no point in detailing them.

The restaurant way better than expected

The property rooms need updated badly. The room is clean, although we were in a twin room and the beds need badly updated. The whole property could have been a lot warmer. I’m sure a stay in summer would be better. I’m sure I read somewhere the hotel has been taken over by new owners and the hallways had been newly painted which looked beautiful, so hopefully the rooms will be next. The overall look of the property is very nice. Loved the huge decking outside the restaurant and great views.

The property is situated in a lovely part of town, right on the water. Our room was on the bottom floor with a lovely view of the water. The restaurant and bar were great and the food really good. Drink and food very reasonable. All members of the staff were all very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The pillows were a bit uncomfortable, but we found some extra pillows in the wardrobe which made for a much better sleep.

We loved the location. The room was spacious with access to the verandah and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a fridge as well. The dinner at the hotel was wonderful. The service was great with very friendly staff. We lost our room key but it was thankfully handed in and staff were really good about it.

They were in the process of painting the hotel and the smell set my sinus off. It was a long walk to the bistro. The bathroom light triggered the very noisy exhaust fan. We usually leave the bathroom light on at night in an unfamiliar situation but couldn’t here.

Location was great. Shame we didn’t have a water facing room. The Priory ridge wine was divine.

The rooms were huge but lacked comfortable seating for two people. The floors need some work as the corridors were very creaky and noisy.

The bistro and deck overlooking the water were very pleasant as was the lounge area with an open fire. The food for dinner and breakfast were very good
