Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Australia1. Please advertise that the access to the off-street parking is very narrow. Small Cars Only (thankfully I was in one, as street parking is challenging in this area.) 2. The main reason I booked this accommodation was for the bath tub in the photos. My friend always requests a bath for any of her bookings as she doesn't have one & loves a good soak. Thought she would love this bath... she would have had there been a plug that fit! Her excitement quickly turned to frustration when she went to use it. Had to MacGyver it with cling wrap to seal the plug and hope for the best. 3. Put away from site the cleaning equipment. There was a vacuum left in the corner of the lounge area and a mop left on top of a cupboard in the kitchen/laundry area. Not a good look for guests and both very visible. 4. Loved the arty feel to the property, but to keep the feel to a good standard, the upholstered dining seating really needs to be repaired or the seats replaced, as does the corner seat in the en-suite bedroom that is cracking and pealing. Didn't feel comfortable sitting on them for fear they would deteriorate some more. It really detracted from the overall aesthetic of the place. 5. The en-suite bathroom door doesn't close.
Overall the property was fine. It is in a great location, easy to get around from here and selected it for it's quirky art style for something different. Has plenty of room and beds were clean and comfortable. We had an issue with the hot water and our message was managed in a timely manner. I am a local, but decided to stay in the city area with my friend visiting from QLD. There are 3 pubs basically outside your door that all offer food and a cafe on the corner open in the morning, but is in walking distance to many more. Aldi close by too.

AustraliaMould. So much mould and it rained while we were in town and the bedroom at the front of the property leaked very badly. Both of the skylights downstairs had mould in them too. The sliding door to the ensuite upstairs is off its runner and because it gets wet from the shower, it is starting to deteriorate. The downstairs bathroom's shower was a trickle, no pressure at all. The stairs leading upstairs are also not friendly for children or those with disabilities they are so steep. Think ladder steep. The oven didn't work. The driveway is also very skinny. And with three days to go before the booking they demanded a $300 hold on our credit card for damages that might be incurred while we were staying at the property. Most hotels ask for $100 for incidentals but to basically hold you over a barrel or you lose your booking is unprofessional. Had we known BEFORE we booked that would have been fine but we paid in full when we booked and it never mentioned this.
This property is right in the heart of Newcastle. Easy walking into town and there are plenty of coffee shops and pubs within walking distance as well as an Aldi.
