Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaA few things on the drinks/snacks menu they just didn’t have in stock.
A magical place to stay! Beautiful building inside and out! A real little hidden escape; a slice of France in Tassie. Breakfast included as a bonus.

Stunning European style villa. Beautifully styled making you feel like you were in a French provincial hotel. Highly recommend a swim in the indoor heated pool.

United StatesWi-Fi is really bad, so if you plan to work or need a stable connection, I would consider a different place
The overall feeling, the authenticity of the place, the style and the most friendly stuff you could ask for. Also, the food was great and I love the surroundings

AustraliaThe TV was rubbish, it was a tiny laptop sized screen located near the lounge but you needed binoculars to see it from the bed. Available channels were also limited to a few rubbish local channels. The shower head was loose, connected to a hose. The head kept dropping down unless it was leant against the wall. Had to ask for a floor mat in the bathroom. There was only one bottle of body wash which was nearly empty. Bed was 2 singles put together and not that comfortable, too soft, and felt like 2 boats side by side. Clearly not enough staff on board, only on person there to manage incoming and existing customers, as well as the restaurant, in which they became stretched for time whenever the restaurant was operating. There were plenty of dead blow flies in the public lounge area behind the lounges, indicating it had not been vacuumed in a long time (probably due to lack of staff). The hotel was up for sale, so I suspect they were trying to reduce costs to make the books look better.
The hotel itself was lovely, an elegant building with some beautiful features.

AustraliaThere probably would have been a little more atmosphere had there been more guests.
A slightly bizarre stay as we were the only guests. I think it is mainly now used as a wedding venue and we were staying midweek. However we cannot fault the staff, who were so obliging, preparing lovely breakfasts and bringing in a chef for an evening meal, which was delicious. The building is gorgeous, although the gardens need a little more maintenance. One of the staff ran after us as we were leaving with a small gift, we felt very special.

AustraliaThe meal we had was very average and we were the only ones dining on a Saturday night. We were told that the chef had come in especially for us but our roasted veg tasted pre cooked and reheated in the microwave.
Loved the building, room size great and bed comfy . Swimming pool was a bonus and loved the real wood fire in the lounge in the evenings.

AustraliaThe hotel is understaffed. There was only 1 staff doing everything from check in, to showing around the hotel, cleaning and helping around. The amenities in the room could be improved too. For the price you pay, you would expect a little bit more.
The Villa itself is great and simply beautiful. The staff were quite friendly too.

AustraliaIt's a pity there wasn't a lift. The stairs were a trial for an older person with mobility problems. Coffee sachets were needed for for those who don't like using the machine provided. Coffee made in the machine wasn't hot enough.
Indoor decor, comfortable bed, view from our room. Nice cooked breakfasts provided in room charge. Friendly and helpful staff and help getting luggage upstairs very much appreciated.

AustraliaIt isn’t a 5 star property at all. Having one staff member looking after everyone was ridiculous. Our friends toilet light kept tripping all their power and the power box for all rooms was in our room, so we were given a key to the box so we could constantly turn it back on for them when needed. We had a 2 night stay and were told an electrician was coming after the first night, but the morning staff member knew nothing about it and did not attempt to even try to get someone in to fix the problem. Having a bar heater in the dining room does not make it warm either. Whoever has taken over this property is spending minimal money to keep it running, taking advantage of its old reputation. The beautiful place does have potential and the staff do try their best to make your stay enjoyable, but it is lacking and its star rating needs to drop. Then people would know what they are getting when they book and wouldn’t complain.
Had old world charm and great views.

AustraliaThe staff were very light on and needed work on both English and practice. Don't get me wrong, both ladies were very nice and helpful but very hard to understand, and not exactly competent with being left on her own for dinner service. This is not her fault, she shouldn't have been left on her own as she was struggling.
Room very comfortable. Lovely location, very easy drive from Hobart. Food was incredible.
