The rooms were modern and tastefully decorated. We slept well in the comfortable beds. Amazing views from the balcony. We even saw galahs from our balconies in the morning. Amazing breakfast. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Car parking needs attention.

Parking was still in progress, if supplying a microwave would be helpful if 2 plates, cutlery and even a little weber q so you could eat, especially if you are there on a Monday n Tuesday as there was nothing open for meals.

Great location, lovely and comfortable newly fitted out rooms, great view of American River, fast wifi. Excellent restaurant for local seafood delights - among the best seafood meal we have ever had. Friendly and hospitable owners/hosts. The parking area was being updated while we were there in early March (it’s located on a steep hill) - so the parking challenge will be solved in the near future.

Amazing recently refurbished hotel in American River. The rooms were spacious and super comfy beds. We actually spotted the glossy black cockatoo from our balcony. The hosts were super friendly and served a delicious breakfast every morning and we went for their 7 course fine dining for dinner where we got to watch sunset and was the best meal we had on the island hands down

Travelling with my sister, we loved every minute of our stay at The River Suites. From the delightful breakfast (with very relaxing background music), lovely rooms with the most spectacular views (we left drapes open to see the beautiful sunrises) and choice of comfy pillows, River Suites delivers. Owners Nicolas and Dhea are delightful and we'd highly recommend having dinner at their Samphire Restaurant ... local seafood degustation was superb. Flavours exquisite... nothing not to love. These guys deserve every support and success. You won't be sorry!!

Nothing! They were building new car spaces, very quietly which when finished will make this perfect!

Exceptionally clean, well thought out and appointed room with a beautiful water view and balcony. Modern furnishings which someone clearly took some time to put together. Quality linen, bedding and towels. The continental breakfast was much appreciated each day by my husband whilst I enjoyed a nespresso on the balcony watching the sun rise over the waters. Bathroom was clean, water pressure perfect with the kitchenette well appointed with necessities such as Nespresso, teas & microwave. Good sized wardrobe, big screen TV, big lounge & even a dining table. After our first use of the shower we returned to find our room made up and our lovely hosts even popped a shelf into the shower for all our toiletries which they took off the floor & placed on the shelf. Its the thoughtfulness and added attention to detail which made our stay extra special. Our hosts were friendly, warm and inviting. They got our room ready early for us after having to catch the early ferry to the island. Couldn’t recommend this beautiful suite more and I am fussy (according to my husband!).

Very Relaxing looking over the water especially the sunrises. The room was lovely and clean. Had everything we needed. All the renovations have been well thought out. I didn’t get to spend longer there!

A very picturesque location overlooking the river, a gorgeous room, especially beautiful lighting used, easy parking, a super cute resident dog and a fantastic degustation dinner in the restaurant Samphire. Not to mention the breakfast included with incredible homemade jams and marmalade! Despite the power going out for an hour the coffee machine was operational and saved the day!

The breakfast selection was absolutely fantastic, freshly baked croissants, mini blueberry muffins, jam filled pastry, meat and cheese platter, beautiful fresh fruits and on and on, yummy. The newly renovated rooms are gorgeous.
