Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanySerene by the Sea is a great place to relax. Just a few meters from your room, you can reach the small sandy beach with sun beds, hammocks and plenty of seating. Here you can spend the whole day undisturbed and enjoy the sunset without animation or annoying music. If you make a request, it will be quickly fulfilled in this small, family-run hotel. If you expect more than scrambled eggs, omelettes, fried eggs, toast, cheese, ham, jam and fruit for breakfast, you should take care of yourself. At the Serena by the Sea, you are in Aruba and not in the USA like at Eagle Beach. It's the real thing.

United StatesI cannot think of anything!
Serene by the Sea exceeded all of our expectations. Their communications before our stay were thorough and made us feel planned for and very welcome. Our oceanfront room had everything we needed and some nice things we didn't expect, such as Aruba Aloe products in the bathroom, including hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The bed was extremely comfortable. Reno, the manager, took good care of us and oriented us to the property. The location, beach lounges, and ample provisions for relaxing in the shade were perfect. This was our first time staying in Savaneta, and we look forward to returning to Serene.

United StatesThe breakfast was just okay, however having breakfast included was very nice.
The views were breathtaking. The family was kind and welcoming. They surprised us with a bottle of wine and a little charcuterie board after a very long day of travel.

United StatesNothing, we wouldn't change a thing.
We had a perfectly wonderful visit to Serenity by the Sea! Our room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. Waking up to the ocean a few steps away was heavenly! It's a family owned and run property, and they make you feel like you're a part of the family as well. Be sure to enjoy Chaf's special omelets at breakfast and book his romantic dinner. We will definitely return to this peaceful, relaxing piece of Heaven!

MexicoAlthough there is very little we didn't like about our experience at Serene by the Sea, there are one or two observations we can make that we feel might be constructive. There is a floating massage deck which seems to be independent of the establishment (Serene by the Sea). This obstructs the sea view and is prohibitively expensive for the average guest and therefore we did not care for it however we understand that other guests might. Although shops are within walking distance it would have been nice to have the opportunity to purchase drinks and snacks on the premises to enjoy whilst on the beach. A drying rack, for towels and clothes, in the room would have been useful.
We enjoyed a superb stay at Serene by the Sea to celebrate our honeymoon. The family, and staff, made us feel very welcome with their friendly and pleasant approach. The breakfast is substantial with delicious omelettes made by the excellent chef, Elise. Bread, ham and cheese toasted sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee are also available for breakfast. We enjoyed a private, romantic candlelit dinner for two on the beach made by chef Elise who made sure we had a memorable experience. The food served was outstanding. It is nice to have a private beach area with comfortable loungers overlooking clear, turquoise-hued Caribbean waters. This makes for excellent snorkelling opportunities with the equipment provided. Serene by the Sea is located in a quiet neighbourhood with a choice of local restaurants and shops within walking distance. Aruba Aloe shampoo and conditioner are provided in the en-suite bathrooms.

United StatesFamily-owned lovely hotel! If you plan to just stay on the beach, this place is perfect. Literally waking up to the beach every morning, and the chef cooks breakfast every morning. I was a little bit worried since I was traveling alone, but this space was just perfect. The chef takes private dinner orders, and it was delicious. Also, ask Reno to take you glass land by boat. There is another full-service villa right next door, and it is connected via the beach, so you can literally just walk over for lunch/dinner or a bar if you don't want to go far. Flying Fishbone and Zooveros are also within walking distance. You definitely need a car if you are a first-timer in Aruba and want to get around. The supermarket is a 5-minute drive. You may be able to walk, but it's too hot to walk in my opinion. I didn't plan to go to the other side of Aruba, so I was okay, but if it's your first time, I recommend renting a car and making sure to bring your liquor and snacks since room has refrigerator. I will definitely be coming back! ❤️

South KoreaI liked everything but if you're a person who likes convenience, the location is a little remote and you need a car to get to pretty much everything.
I LOVED EVERYTHING about this place. One of my best beach vacations ever. There were other guests in the hotel while we were there, but everyone was respectful of each others' space. I felt like we were in a private villa the whole time. The water is beautiful, and they have snorkeling gears and kayak you can use, as well as many seating arrangements by the water.

United StatesWe didn't know that there's no daily cleaning or towel replacement, so it was a bit uncomfortable on the 3rd day w/o those services. This second issue is not that imp -adding some variations to the bf menu will make it even better!
If you prefer an all inclusive resort type experience, this is NOT for you. If you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of Eagle Beach or Palm Beach type locations, this is for you. This family-run hotel sits at the quiet part of the island (in Seveneta; near Zeerover - the famous restaurant and Flying Fish, almost as famous and way more expensive) and close to our favorite beach - Baby Beach, and one of the entrances to the Arikok National Park (Baby Beach entrance - you get the caves first). This is a family run business and we were treated like a family by each and every staff member who were all family members and run the hotel. Very personalized service. Everyone was super nice. Reno and Chef Elise were the two people - Reno is Chef's nephew - we were in touch daily; Reno is great! Don't forget to have him take around in a little boat and to the Glass Island which is across the property! Chef made bf everyday and we (and other guests) ate facing the beautiful ocean and sea breeze. My wife and I had a special dinner one of the nights - just for us - and chef made it very special, including his surprises - very memorable. There's a local tree almost touching the water towards the villa side - my wife and I would lie down there after dinner and enjoy our drinks in the cool breeze of the night - very nice! We borrowed cooler (for Balachi, Chill, and Bright!), beach chairs, and snorkeling googles from Reno - no charge - thanks, Reno! Kayak's were there for use for free too (we didn't). We plan to go back to Aruba - nice place - and stay in Serene by the Sea again - this time in the big family unit!

United StatesThe bathroom had a large shower but there was only a small sink next to the toilet. There wasn't a counter to place toiletries or towel ring to hang a hand towel which made it a little cramped and hard to use comfortably.
The location was beautiful on the southern side of the island along a channel created by Sea Glass Island so there was an abundance of marine life to explore snorkeling foot steps from the shore. The property provided peaceful relaxation in cabanas, hammocks, couches and an open-air restaurant to enjoy breakfast each morning through the beautiful sunsets in the evening. Serene by the Sea in Savaneta lives up to it's name!
