Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne night was really colder and no heating was working. But managed it. :)
Great communication with a host, who was also very helpful when I was not sure about the location of the hostel. It is easy to follow the GPS, but is located in the inner block, then follow the signs for the hostel Mak and the copy centre. :) The check in and check out was easy at the copy centre which was also used as a reception. The price was amazing for the city centre, everything in very short walking distance. My room which I booked, was actually for 4 people and I stayed there alone. :) I had plenty of space for myself, the bed was comfortable, shower and toilet clean, there was basic items available, some coffee, fridge, etc. No table or chair inside the room, but for warmer days there was seating downstairs outside in common areas. A fan available for the hot days, the place was quiet and no noise was heard from the street. Only later in evening there could be some dodgy guys hanging around, so better not coming back too late in night, just in case. I would stay definitely again. Thank you! :)

TanzaniaIt can be difficult to find. Google Maps and other apps get confused. That's because the hostel is situated inside a building block. The block has four entrances (two on the mainstreet, two on the side of the famous Markale fruit market). The inner court is like a labyrinth. But don't give up and look for signs that say Hostel MAK or look for sings of Kopirnica, the next door print shop. The labyrinth contains some dark corners and some sketchy stores that might make the female solo traveller feel intimidated. But once you've passed this feeling, it will feel nice to sleep in this quiet, hidden, affordable, superclean hostel.
Central location. plenty of mini-markets around. Very responsive and caring host. Super clean room and well constructed bathroom with proper hot shower. I had a (family)room for four all for myself, but if to be shared with three other backpackers the room might feel 'full'. The hostel is actually three levels with indepedent rooms an without visible staff. The desolated complex is well protected by a door that shuts automatically if you leave the hostel. The reception is actually done by friendly staff of the copy and print shop next door. After working hours somebody will be welcoming you within 5 minutes after you call.

Super friendly staff. Clean Bathroom and Room. Comfortable mattress and fresh bed clothing. The hostel is right in the middle of the old town but nestled between the buildings: Despite loud music in the old town in the room it was very quiet. Simply perfect! Save bicycle parking in the room! (I had a room for me alone)

PolandIt's not located at number 11 but within a courtyard next to a tattoo saloon and bookmaker's joint. Looks dodgy at first but actually it's safe. There is no common area or kitchen (but who needs one in Sarajevo with its buregdzicas and čevapdzicas)
Very well located. Pretty much 10 min away from the main Bazaar. It's a quiet neighborhood so you'll get a good night sleep. The reception isn't available at all times therefore notify in advance your time of arrival.

SpainAll great
The apartments are very central, just off the Main Street and despite the noise in the area, we found them very quiet inside. They take a bit of finding but there are lots of signs so just follow them around the inner courtyard. The owners were very friendly and helpful and allowed us to leave our bags when we arrived and we were then able to enter the room a little later. Communication was good. The rooms are small but perfectly adequate for a night or 2. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean. They were very cheap, especially when compared to hotels in the area and I would definitely stay there again if I came back to Sarajevo

CanadaThe heating worked intermittently. My main disappointment was that the hostel was down little alleyways that were very poorly lit at night, with broken paving stones and trash on the sides. I am a solo woman traveler and did not feel safe leaving the hostel when it was dark. I felt that this restricted my movements and enjoyment of the city. The room and especially the shower could use a good cleaning.
Markale market was around the corner and a grocery next to it. Convenient for walking the Old Town. The Hostel was set back from the main road in an alleyway so it was very quiet.

United KingdomThe bathroom needs renovation and deep cleaning; you have to push the tap to get water only for one second. The sink and toilet hardly pass out any water, as the pipes were blocked. No toilet paper or soap. It was a bit noisy from the banging doors of the photocopy shop in the Hostel! I barely saw any staff, we sort of took care of ourselves. Odd location, Cobwebs on wall spiders. Wifi was terrible. The shower was not warm enough or powerful enough. The hostel is located in an unsafe area near gambling office with a dark entrance, the Bed is not very comfortable and very low. Soundproofing could definitely be better, both to the outside and other rooms. You still be able to hear other guests late at night.
The receptionist was very polite and willing to help as much as he can. Affordable place (not the cheapest) to rest your head only for one night and don't expect much more.

CyprusWhen I got in too the room there was a musty smell but I ignored it until the ceiling started to fall on me ! I started to move my luggage to another corner so they don't get wet until I noticed that the other corner was wet by the rain water and keep in mind that this is mid August rain so I can't imagine staying here in winter. Also if you are checking out on Sunday there is no one in the reception to store your luggage or to hand the keys. Another thing would probably be the colour of the sheets which weren't white and I couldn't make sure if they were dirty or not. If you are going in summer be careful before booking because they have no AC in the rooms which can get really hot.
Location was close to the local attractions

SpainI liked everything, The bed was very comfy and the area was exceptional. Quiet and good.
The location is just perfect. In the main walking street in Sarajevo's city center. The room is huge, I had three beds even though I'm a solo traveller. The hot water was working fine and everything looked very clean. I will definitely repeat my stay when I'll go back someday to Sarajevo and I will recommend the place. Even though I arrived a bit late, I called the number that they had and in 5 minutes someone came to check me in. Very nice service. You really feel the privacy, nobody bothers you during your stay. The price couldn't be better
