Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Convenient location with a bar downstairs and a good simple breakfast. The staff were good value and helpful. Just don't sit at the bar without a drink.

The beds in the mixed dorm are old and not well equipped (no light, no curtains etc). For the good price it's acceptable though.
Location couldn't be any better, staff was super friendly. It was the most personal atmosphere I ever experienced in an European hostel. Breakfast is included and good. Price is very reasonable. Bathrooms are cleaned daily.

The elevator was broken, and the room was in the 5th floor, so every time I had to climb everest and later descend it. For someone that walked 20km during the day, it wasn't nice... They offered padlock, but didn't tell they charge 3 euros for it.
Breakfast was pretty good, showers with decent pressure and comfy room

I had food in the fridge that someone threw away. Perhaps some food labels might help. There were no pots or pans in the kitchen. There was no plug for the bath.
I slept well. I was able to store food in the kitchen. I was able to make tea. I was able to place the key in the key box when I left in the morning without checking out via the reception. There was a nice balcony, and the hostel was close to the tram stop. There was a nice park around the corner. There was soap in the shower.

needs more toilet, sinks slow to dispose waste water, a bit tight inside room (at least my room), washroom need a container / a tool to out shampoo etc

the location is not bad, it’s near to some attractions and there are some nice restaurants and bars. but is a little bit far from the main station. it’s 30 minutes by walk.

Cold rooms, toilets and showers are outside the rooms, towel and key for the locker are not included, could have been given another, little better bed at least because these in the middle row don't have charging plug.
Reliable service, adequate room, decent facilities. My request was accepted. Locaton in the most central part, next to the city hall. However it is not near important transportation links and there's limited options of shops around.

The beds (and some rooms) are very squeaky and noisy. The hostel is actually an old building that apparently was not renovated in a long while. The showers are not bad but you have to keep pressing a button to keep the water dripping.
The vibes and the atmosphere at the hostel (and the city of Antwerp) are great! The staff are some of the loveliest people I have met and the manager there was happy to offer me a bed for an extra night when the hostel was fully booked. Breakfast is more than decent.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable and the noise they made was exceedingly loud. The floors also creeked as people walked on the floor above.
The location was fantastic. The people were really nice and the breakfast was surprisngly well stocked

In the showers no where to place your items or shoes as the shower covers the whole place, I had to use the bar that holds the frame together. Only 3 toilets for the amount of people. No events or information of events.
The location is brilliant and noise was not an issue. Plenty of showers and washing facilities. The beds weren't too bad for comfort. Good price for what you get and the breakfast is a basic continental with plenty to go around.

The location is in the old town, besides a night club, it means you can hear the chaos all nights, even though with an ear plug on. I can’t sleep since 6am, when it’s about time for parties to end. Very tiring, really not enjoy it at all
The receptionist girl is super helpful and very kind, help me to solve several issues
