Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomReally, nothing bad. The only point I didn't like was the window's views, it was not nice, internal view. Not to the front of the building. But no free bedrooms to change.
Everything was excellent! Staff: Amir (manager): outstanding attention, always helping, very friendly. All the staff are excellent! Ubication: Perfect! 10' walk from train station (Eurostar), Front of Anneessens underground station. Bedroom: Impeccable, comfortable and large room with space and fantastic beds. Bathroom: Very good, nice decoration, comfortable. Definitely, I'll stay again at Hotel Barry when I come back to Brussels.

United KingdomBeing a glasses wearer, a bedside cabinet would have been helpful, but that was a minor issue.
The hotel was very nice. There had been some very recent renovations carried out in the public areas that had been performed to a very high standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The single bedroom was quite small but very comfortable. The hotel was in a good location, just a 10 minute walk to the Grand Place.

ItalyIt’s a budget hotel - so don’t have too many expectations! The reception has been recently renovated but the rooms are still old and cheap. The bathroom is super old and used - definitely needs a renovation! The room stinks of bleach and that was really annoying. The beds, table and chair were old and with marks.
The only plus of the room were the two big windows which led to fresh air and light. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, very honest and helpful - thank you so much for taking care of us during our stay!

CanadaIn comparative terms, from travelling for the past three years, it's pricey, for what it offers - but I get the vibe that this is just Brussels, and Brussels is expensive!

United KingdomThe room is badly ventilated, in warmer days it can be extremely hot inside. If you are ‘lucky’, you may even smell other people cooking. Facilities in the room are old, toilet seats with damages on the surface, sometimes hard to tell if it is damage or dirt. The shower gel is extremely diluted, feels like they added water to a bottle of gel that is running out, and it is very hard to shower with that.
Decent location, 10 minute walk to historical centre, staff are friendly and helpful.

United KingdomNothing to complain about. The Hotel is very nice, with a fair price and a great location.
Very good Hotel to stay in Brussels! I highly recommend, we had a great experience in the Easter Holidays 2024. Reception staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very good Location - walking distance from the Central Area. Many restaurants and little supermarkets near by, and they stay open until late. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, clean and with a good atmosphere. Was a pleasant experience and I would recommend it.

AustraliaSummary of situation was my friend and I were having a quiet conversation in my room (they were not staying in the room, just there having a chat), and reception knocks on the door and loudly tells them to get out of the room or they’d call the police. Their justification was visitors couldn’t stay in the room, but my friend wasn’t staying plus there wasn’t any no visitor policy in the booking dot com terms and conditions I agreed to. I raised a complaint to the receptionist who repeatedly refused to let me speak to the manager. The next morning I left the hotel due to the experience, and they (a) put a charge through for €100 on my card claiming I stole the key (even though I have a photo proving where I left it in the room), and (b) responded to me with the words ‘don’t f*ck with me. b*tch’ when I called them again to say they couldn’t take my money like that. I’ve raised a chargeback for that €100 and complained to booking.com but while continuing to push for a refund they’ve now changed their story and are claiming I had my boyfriend staying in my room (I’m single and no one was staying in the room but me) and have started trying to threaten me by accusing my friend and I of dealing drugs, claiming the fact that he left when asked indicates we were doing illegal things, and they have sent the police looking for us. At no point did we do anything illegal nor did we do anything to make it seem like we were doing something illegal. They have said never bother them again, indicating if I do they’ll have me stopped by border police at the airport for illegal activity (which I haven’t engaged in so couldn’t occur).

BelgiumI had to leave my key when going outside of hotel during my stay. My room smelled of chips at arrival and apart from bed,it was dusty and dated. One night ok. Parking private but 20 eur a night. You can park on the street but at your own risk as little further you have dodgy streets.
Location and price, main street, next to metro maybe 20m. Bed comfortable and quiet room, there is a lift. Staff very friendly and helpful.
